This Just In: Paid Battletag Changes
Today, I learned that Blizzard is putting “Paid Battletag” changes. For ten bucks, you can rename your Battletag and it will show up on all of your friends’ friends lists, provided this name meets their standards. Don’t want to be Ragachak#1434 anymore? Maybe you want to be EdgeLordDeathKiller? They’ve always had one free Battletag change, but now you can do it again and again if you have the want to. But why isn’t it free? It’s free on Steam to rename at will! Your account name doesn’t change on Steam, but you can sure rename from MMOHuts|ColtronXL to MMOHuts|DilapadatedBoat. I know you’re asking: Why isn’t it free to do all the time on Battlenet though?
Think about it. Gold Sellers would theoretically have even more anonymity. People could flame, troll, pitch a fit and in general be shitheels and just change their name and hide. Especially if you don’t know their account name. That’s a horrifying thought, that people could just get away with being even more awful than they already are on trade chat. You could hop on, just call people the worst things imaginable and then poof! Now you go from EdgyMcAsshole to RainbowHairedWarrior. That’s just how it would happen. So, it’s ten bucks to change your name. And I’m willing to bet that Blizzard could track what you were and what you said anyway. I think it’s a pretty cool change, but I don’t know if I’m going to really take advantage of it. But being listed as MMOHuts/OnRPG Ragachak would be pretty cool. Gotta rep your squad.
What do you think? Worth spending money on, or a stupid money-grab?

World of Warships Celebrates Talk Like a Pirate Day with Special Guest
World of Warships is celebrating “Talk Like a Pirate” day on September 19 with a new Pirate Voice over, featuring voice actor Jon St. John (Duke Nukem, Sonic Adventure).
Captains can earn a special Jolly Roger pirate flag by winning one battle on September 19.
Jon St. John be sayin’:
Finally, the pirate voice I’ve had inside my head since I was a kid can be heard out loud in World of Warships. Too bad I have such a hard time playing the game wearing this eye patch.

The Big Score: Is it a good deal for Payday 2?
Payday is really an interesting beast. It’s a crime-simulation. It’s not a horde mode, it’s not a team shooter, it’s not an FPS. It’s a crime-simulation game. You really immerse yourself into the role of a villain, a bank robber, and fortunately, the same crew from Payday is still here. Without a doubt there are positives and negatives. The good thing? Playing with friends and planning heists is intense, amazing, and with some of the DLC, absolutely damn hilarious. Love it, love the visuals, love the gameplay, love the guns. So. Many. Cool. Things. However the bots are still absolutely idiotic. I have managed to get by with bots, because none of my friends on PSN appear to have it, but I do love the world I’m presented with. There is also. . . Oh God, so much DLC for this game. So much. . .It’s not on the Truck Simulator/Train Simulator level, but it’s close enough! There are ten bloody DLC packs for Payday 2, which can add up to a lot of money.
Buying them at 4.99-6.99 bucks a piece or so, that really adds up, especially if you’re a fan and really want it all. That can be incredibly daunting if you want to unlock some truly magnificent stuff to play around with. For those of you who already have the game, the DLC is not terribly expensive, or you can spend the 39.99 to buy “The Big Score” pack. However, for those of you who want to try it on console, but don’t want to spend all that money, there is a fantastic solution! Payday 2: The Big Score version is coming to console, which has Payday 2: Crimewave Edition and the Big Score DLC. It’s only 49.99 and gives you everything you could want for the game! Is it the prettiest game on the market? Nah, it’s not. Does it make me think of The Dark Knight with the crazy Clown masks? Of course it does. This game has such intense in-depth ability to think, strategize and work together to do something horrendous and evil. I love Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, I love the DLC, and having it all together in one nice, neat place is really just the best. If you were on the fence, have friends who want to plot with, you owe it to yourself to check it out. Also: Favorite DLC? Yakuza. Character. Pack. Yes. I was disappointed with The Golden Grin, because I was hoping it was really “The Golden Girls”. How can you not want to commit crimes as the evil Golden Girls? Think about it, guys.
Shut up. Don’t judge me.
Verdict: It’s a bit behind the times in the looks/AI dept, but with friends this could be one of the most fun games I’ve ever played.
