League to go to 10 bans?
League of Legends by Riot Games, has 133 characters or so right now. An absolutely staggering number of choices to play in the game. And in that, many of them are worthy of taking a ban or not being allowed in a particular competitive/draft mode. But each team only has 3 bans to choose from, and they don’t always make the smartest picks. Some people prefer to ban stuff they don’t want to deal with. Some people ban popular/hype carry picks. Some people just ban the same champ in every game because they refuse to accept a match that could have Vayne, Teemo, or Hecarim in it. And if they are on the opposing team, they will do nothing but kvetch, whine, and grow increasingly toxic. But who are the current “bannable” champs to me?
- Vayne
- Zed
- Hecarim
- Zac
- Yasuo
- Thresh
- Blitz
- Volibear
- Akali
- Kayle
- Irelia
- Fizz
See? More than six, and that’s just off the top of my head, some of the most difficult things for me personally to deal with. Some peoples lists are longer, some are shorter [I’m too gud to have bad matches lululul]. However, Meddler, over on the official League forums said they are looking at a ten ban system once the new client happens. Maybe the current client doesn’t allow for it? Dunno about all that, but I’d accept it. Personally, I think that it’s a fantastic idea. There are so many champs for so many situations, and there are a pile of really powerful characters right now. Not to mention, you might get booted from a lobby, see someone on the other team [that was on your team] trying to play something you don’t want to deal with. Not to mention the forthcoming assassin rework. I would have loved to see 10 bans during the Mage Rework. It’s not 100% confirmed, but they are definitely considering it. Want to see the post? It’s right here! They are looking at a lot of potential changes, and we’ll just have to see what they decide.
What do you guys think? No bans? 10 bans? 100 bans? What would appease your rage?
