The Astronauts Unveil Dark Fantasy FPS Witchfire At The Game Awards

Witchfire News

Last night at The Game Awards, The Astronauts, makers of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, unveiled their latest project: Witchfire. It’s a dark fantasy first person shooter, and that’s all that we have at this moment. The purpose of the reveal last night was to reassure people that The Astronauts were still around and working, and how different this title was from their lat work. The three co-owners of The Astronauts were also the co-owners of People Can Fly, as well as the creative leads behind shooters like Painkiller and Bulletstorm. Though it does still use the photogrammetry tech used in The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, it promises to be a vastly different game. This technology allows them to scan 3D real-life objects and use them as digital assets in their games.

GTFO Premieres at The Game Awards With Co-Op Gameplay Trailer

10 Chambers Collective – a Swedish development team led by the brain behind the Payday franchise, Ulf Andersson – revealed the name of their new game in a teaser trailer earlier this year: GTFO. It will challenge players to communicate and coordinate, and the slogan “work together or die together” is telling of just that. Simply staying in a group is not enough. It appears to be an apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic title, and players will never know where the monsters are or which way to go. Use the tools at your disposal, or perish in the dark, whether you’re alone or with your team.

“The narrative of GTFO encourages exploration and discovery. The more you play a character, the more you learn about them – like how they ended up as scavengers trying to survive in this grisly and disturbing underworld called The Complex,” says Adam Gascoine, writer of GTFO.

Dying Light to Receive Battle Royale-Inspired Mutliplayer Expansion in 2018

Dying Light Bad Blood News

Big news for Dying Light in 2018 is here. The battle for Harran is far from over: Dying Light: Bad Blood is a multiplayer expansion for Dying Light coming in 2018, which will feature the popular Battle Royale style game mode. Players will be dropped into the infested city of Harran with the goal of collecting biosamples from infected. You can either cooperate or betray each other to reap the biggest rewards for yourself. A beta test will go live later this month, and a formal release sometime in Q1 2018.

“Our aim is both to satisfy players’ demands for competitive PvP gameplay and to explore
new directions for Dying Light’s multiplayer experience,” said Tymon Smektala, Producer at
Techland. “Since Bad Blood was inspired by fan requests, we want player feedback to be
an integral part of our development. That’s why we’re inviting Dying Light fans to take part in
our Global Playtest. They can play the expansion early and share their thoughts, knowing
their feedback will have a major influence on Bad Blood’s development.”
