Aftercharge Beta Weekend Giveaway

We’ve partnered with Chainsawesome Games to give away keys to this weekend’s special closed beta event!

Aftercharge Beta Weekend

Aftercharge is a 3 vs 3 competitive game pitting invisible robots against an invincible security squad in high-octane tactical skirmishes. Six glowing structures called extractor are at the center of the gameplay and serve as the objective for both teams. The robots have to coordinate their attacks, create distractions and sneak around to destroy them. The enforcers on the other hand have to cover as much ground as possible and use their abilities wisely to spot the attackers and stop them before they can destroy all of the extractors.

Amplitude Studios Announces Free Weekend for All Amplitude Games

Hot on the heels of their latest double expansion announcement (Endless Space 2: Supremacy and Endless Legend: Inferno), Amplitude Games announced that from Thursday, August 2nd until Sunday, August 6th, all Amplitude Studios’ games will be free to play for everyone. In addition, based on how many hours are played across all of their games by the community, there are Stretch Goals, which can be found at this link. Last year, 240,000 participated in the free weekend, which unlocked all six reward tiers.

Simply play Endless Legend, Dungeon of the Endless, or Endless Space 2 and reach 1 million hours of collective playtime to help the community unlock all the rewards, which include a Cravers Prime skin that was only available during Early Access, and as stretch goals, 6 additional fleet skins to unlock.

Here are some more details about each one of their titles, to help you pick the one you’ll try for free this weekend!

Who hasn’t harbored a secret dream or two of galactic domination? Whether you’ll burn and conquer your neighbors or cozy it up with them is up to you. Before long, you’ll be saying “just one more turn” as you lead your civilization to the stars…

For the more fantasy-minded, dive into the mystical world of Endless Legend, a strategy game where you must strive to save your people on the dying world of Auriga. Not to sound too braggy or anything, but this game was nominated game of the year by Rock Paper Shotgun and has won multiple awards for its soundtrack!

A cult favorite and a bit of an outlier from our other titles, this rogue-like game with a dash of tower defense takes place in a pixelized world with electro music inspired from the 80s and 90s. You and your team of heroes must try and protect the generator of your crash-landed ship all the while fighting monsters and trying to find your way out of a procedurally-generated dungeon! (try and say that one without pausing for breath)

The game that started it all! Our very first game, released in 2012, introduces the Endless Universe and our trademark slick UI and haunting atmosphere. Lots of our fans still seem to love playing it, so it’s worth a run!

Dead or Alive 6 Adds Two Intense Fighters to the Lineup

Koei Tecmo announced two more characters for the roster of Dead or Alive 6, including the well-known antagonist, Rig. Coming alongside him is Diego, who is making his debut into the Dead or Alive franchise in this title. Both combatants will be able to be tried out at EVO (Evolution Championship Series) 2018 in the first consumer playable build of Dead or Alive 6. This will be available August 3rd and 4th at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Known as “The Uncrowned Street Hero,” Diego makes his DOA debut boasting the raw and brutal skills of a street fighter, utilizing everything from headbutts to tackles in taking down opponents. This gritty fighter grew up in the back alleys of New York, earning money to support his ailing mother by competing in many street matches. Long rumored to be the strongest fighter in his neighborhood, he is seen by many locals as a hero as he utilizes his experience brawling in confined quarters to impact fights with a set of strong-style moves.

Joining Diego is returning taekwondo master Rig, who boasts the “Kicks of Truth and Deceit.” Rig, who originally debuted in Dead or Alive 5, is a former oil platform worker whose kick-heavy style has evolved to incorporate more acrobatic maneuvers. To kick-off their confrontation in DOA6, the formidable brawler Rig challenges Diego in a New York alley, and the two decide the time for conversation is over; it’s time to fight!

Insurgency: Sandsorm Opens Limited-Time Beta Access to Pre-Order Members

New World Interactive’s latest title in the works, Insurgency: Sandstorm is on the way in September of 2018 to PC and to consoles in 2019. However, peopel who pre-ordered it on Steam will have exclusive access to the Pre-Order Beta 1. This is the first official beta test and the first time it’s playable at home. New World Interactive is looking forward to feedback from the Insurgency fanbase, and hope to gather as much data as possible leading up to the second Beta phase. The second beta test will begin on August 30th and will have a further three maps available to tackle. This will let players test the full content a few weeks before launch and will be focused around bug fixing and server stability.

Available in Pre-order Beta 1 will be three maps from the final release build. Each is a complex maze of brutal interiors, deadly sniping lanes, and wide-open battlefields, each uniquely designed to make every moment of every game feels fresh. Whether your playstyle is run and gun, slow-paced, or more specialized, you’ll find plenty to study and learn across the maps. The four game modes – Firefight, Push, Checkpoint, and Skirmish – each changes the accessible part of the map, drastically altering the available strategies. Insurgency: Sandstorm can be pre-ordered on Steam for 10% off, reducing the cost to 26.99, and an additional 10% loyalty discount will be given to fans who own the original Insurgency. This additional discount will be offered until the end of 2018.

As Pre-order Beta 1 will have no NDA and no streaming restrictions, those curious are invited to watch live gameplay on Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, and Facebook throughout the long weekend. Preview codes giving access to the beta are available on request to publications, content creators, and streamers.
