Sweet Bandit Studios are proud to announce their new caffeine-themed brawler, Coffence at PAX West 2018. It’s a blend of fighting games and twin-stick shooting where coffee is your life-force. It’s literally our health bar, and every blow you are blasted with will have some of that delicious brew leave you. From baristas to businessmen, you must fight till the last drop. Coffence also has a variety of attacks, with their own pros and cons, and reading what your opponent can do is the key to success. Precision-based ranged attacks offer lots of tactical variety, and if you consume enough coffee to unleash your COFFEE BREAK, your foes will scramble away. Interested parties can find Coffence on the 6th floor at booth #7218 at PAX West 2018.

Nintendo Switch News – Week of 8/24/2018
by Jason Parker (Ragachak)
It’s a light week for actual releases on the Nintendo Switch, but hey, it’s Gamescom this week and Pax next week! So you can be sure there are announcements abound. First I do want to warn that this first title is a little on the mature side: Senran Kagura – Reflexions. It’s actually available for pre-order on the Nintendo E-Shop right now in North America for 9.99. The release date is September 13th, 2018. Additional characters will be available as DLC content for the (admittedly) high price of 9.99 a piece. Yumi’s available at launch, then Murasaki, Ryona, and Yomi in the weeks to come. This game is all about reflexology, creating deep relationships and massaging the girls in the “busty brawler” series.
The next bit is that Mega Crit and Humble Bundle announced that the hit Slay the Spire is on the way to the Nintendo Switch in 2019. The Switch version will also have all of the PC content, including content that is not released presently. Whether you want to play with touch controls or with the controller, the portable nature will be delightful, being able to take the roguelike card game anywhere you want. You can also die on the go in the Roguelike 3D shooter EVERSPACE, which is also on the way to the Switch! It’s release, however, will be in 2018 (December 2018), and the Switch’s “Stellar Edition” will contain the base game, expansion, EVERSPACE art book, and a soundtrack with over 60 tracks. Originally released on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4, ROCKFISH’s first game is blasting onto the Switch in a big way, already selling 600,000+ units before even hitting the Switch.
11 bit studios is also bringing four of their hits to the Switch, several of which I’m very excited for. The one I’m looking forward to the most if I’m being honest is Beat Cop. Beat Cop is a retro pixel game where you play as a cop framed for murder in ’80s New York. Framed for murder, it’s time to find out who set you up (Fall 2018). This War of Mine is a survival game based on real-life events, where you, instead of playing as an elite, badass soldier, you control a group of civilians merely trying to survive in an area torn by war and violence. It’s coming in November, and releasing as the “Complete Edition”. It comes with every expansion and paid DLC released so far as well as content coming in the future. Moonlighter is the story of a shopkeeper who dreams of being a hero. It has action-RPG and rogue-lite elements, where you take care of business, but also your blade. This is something I must have missed out on, and I wholly regret that. It really sounds like it’s up my ally. (Fall 2018). Children of Morta is the last one coming out, and ou hack and slash your way through endless hordes of enemies in this narrative-driven roguelike. Playable in either single player or co-op, experience what it means to be part of a family of heroes as they fight to defend their legacy and each other. (2019)
Little Dragon’s Cafe (8/24/2018): I’m actually drafting a review of this game as we speak. I just need to put the screenshots in and edit it one last time. But Little Dragon’s Cafe is part rhythm game, part cafe/business management simulator. You, your sibling and a group of misfits need to help raise a dragon to save your mom, while also creating a successful cafe. Recipes to find, adventures to go on, cute areas to explore and tasty foods to cook, this game has it all, and it’s 100% worth playing (59.99).
