Winds of Change Seeks to Smash The Furry Stigma

Winds of Change is an upcoming 2D action game that seeks to smash the stigmas that come with the furry community. It will blend 2D adventure elements with open-world RPGs, point-and-click adventures, as well as visual novels to create something unique. Winds of Change aims to offer an unflinchingly honest portrayal of the furry community, and there is hope that the game could alleviate some of the stress furries encounter in trying to balance their love and excitement about their community with their day-to-day expectations.

The game’s creator, Klace said about the game and the Furry fandom:

“The Furry Fandom seems to exist in a bubble. It hasn’t quite popped, and been exposed or integrated into our way of life like other fandoms and communities have. It’s lagged behind quite a bit, especially when you take into account some of the ‘questionable’ representation we’ve had in mainstream media.” He doesn’t feel this will last forever though, positing that “the furry fandom is on the fence, and tipping more toward the direction of acceptance.”

“It’s still generally seen as a bad idea for a furry to outright discuss fandom conventions, costumes, or content with the average public, because that begins to dive into details and topics most people might not understand on a surface level and don’t have the time or willingness to research on their own. Like telling jokes at a funeral, it risks being a case of Appropriate Content, Inappropriate Environment. I think over time, as more and more people become familiar with the fandom and the good it can produce, more of those environments will become appropriate as well.”

If people come away with a new mindset on what a furry is, or are curious about the furry fandom and wish to approach it in a positive light, this could be the opening they are looking for. Winds of Change  hits Early Access on Steam on August 21st, 2019. For the latest updates on all things Winds of Change, follow the game on Twitter and Discord, and add it to your Steam wishlist.

There aren’t very many RTS titles on console at the moment, so Ancestors Legacy has a chance to stand out. Controller support has been worked on since the beginning, so players will not have to worry about poor controls. Lornsword Winter Chronicle Heads to PS4 and Xbox One this Fall

Lornsword Winter Chronicle is an upcoming action-strategy title from former Creative Assembly developers, at studio Tower Five. They announced today that Lornsword Winter Chronicle is heading to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One this fall. For enrolled participants, those in the Xbox Insider Program already have access to the demo.

Lornsword Winter Chronicle combines real-time strategy gameplay with an engaging narrative and a direct and action-based control system designed with a gamepad in mind. Players take control of Corun, a young Lornknight placed in command of the small fortified town of Tulza in the southern province of the Lorn Empire. Battles will be fast and frenetic on a dynamic battlefield, and the world is harsh, desolate, covered in snow and ice. Players will be able to drop in via local co-op as well to bring a friend into the battle with you. In addition, you can go at it up close with a hero, or summon soldiers to attack a target in these clashes.

We at Tower Five love real-time strategy games, yet the genre has struggled to make the move to consoles, as gamepad controls were ill-equipped for many of the genre classics”, said Renaud Charpentier, Game Director at Tower Five. “That’s why we rethought from the ground up how a strategy game would work. Now you have direct control of your Lornknight, while also having to manage resources and command a larger army. It’s a lot to take in, but having to care for your specific avatar and throngs of units ensures that there’s never a dull moment.
