Friday The 13th Coming to the Nintendo Switch this August

Friday the 13th on Switch

Gruesome third-person survival horror title Friday the 13th: The Game is confirmed to be heading to the Nintendo Switch in North America this August. It will arrive with the “Ultimate Slasher Edition” on August 13th, 2019. This physical retail edition will come with the base game, all of the DLC, and an 11×17 limited-edition poster. Friday The 13th: The Game is a love letter to the original horror franchise, where players either control a counselor or Jason himself (seven on one). The teens need to scrounge for tools to survive and escape, and Jason will use every power in his arsenal to track, locate, and murder his prey.

Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Edition for the Nintendo Switch includes:

  • All DLC and Retail Exclusive Content* – In addition to all previously released DLC – including 10 single player challenges, new maps, characters, counselor outfits, Jason skins, additional kills for Jason and the complete Virtual Cabin experience – the physical edition also offers exclusive Bloody Jason Skins and clothing packs.
  • Eight-Person Multiplayer and Single Player Modes – On maps spanning multiple iconic locations from the movie franchise, players will match up online as either Jason Voorhees or a Camp Counselor trying to survive the night. Players seeking lower pressure slasher fun can take the fight offline in matches with AI bots.
  • Killer Variety  Players can don the mask of their favorite incarnations of Jason Voorhees as depicted in films two through nine. Each Jason is hand-crafted with specific strengths, weaknesses, and exclusive brutal kills. The retail edition offers even more brutal execution options, with the Pick Axe, Pig Splitter and Machete Kill Packs.
  • Character Customization – As players level up, they will unlock new playable Counselor and Jason models that can be purchased with Customization Points (CPs). CPs also unlock new kills for Jason, game-changing perks that help Camp Counselors survive the night, emotes for self-expression, and various regalia appropriate for a funeral … or seven. The retail edition includes the Spring Break ’84 Clothing and Halloween Costume Packs for players to try on before the murder party.
  • Franchise Authenticity – The game draws expertise from horror icons including Sean S. Cunningham (director/creator of Friday the 13th), Tom Savini (FX legend and effects director of Friday the 13th), composer Harry Manfredini (various compositions from the franchise) and Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees actor; Part 7, 8 and 9).

Steel Division 2 Deploys on Steam in Remembrance of Operation Bagration

Eugen Systems have launched their real-time strategy game, Steel Division 2, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of Operation Bagration. The Standard Edition is 39.99, and the Commander Deluxe, General Deluxe, and Total Conflict editions are 59.99/69.99/79.99 respectively.

“We can’t wait for players to finally get their hands on the final version of Steel Division 2,” says Game Director at Eugen Systems Alexis Le Dressay. “On behalf of the entire development team at Eugen Systems, we want to thank our die-hard community and players who helped us continue to improve and polish this game through its extensive closed beta period.”

Steel Division 2 takes place during Operation Bagration on the Eastern Front, in the summer of 1944, and pushes the limits of the World War II tactical experience. There will be several game modes to check out, units and divisions to utilize, and Eugen Systems are excited for players to try the sequel to Steel Division: Normandy 44.

Featuring the loving and painstaking attention to detail developer Eugen Systems is famous for, players can expect historically accurate units, weaponry, vehicles, aircraft and battlefields throughout the course of Steel Division 2’s new campaign, multiplayer, and co-op modes.

Mainlining Arrives on the Nintendo Switch

Mainlining on the Switch

Rebelephant and Merge Games is a point-and-click adventure arriving on the Nintendo Switch today, focused on hacking and cybercrime. Mainlining will delve into the world of cybercrime, with dark and dry humor paired with their narrative. The government has introduced the BLU Pill Act and Secret Intelligence Service’s reintroduction of MI7. All online personal data is easily accessible by the government, and that is a horrifying thought.

The entire game takes place on the simulated desktop of the protagonist’s computer. As an MI7 operative, your primary objective is to gather evidence by hacking suspects’ computers and phones in order to facilitate their arrest and to ensure that the courts have what they need to hand out the longest sentences possible. You have to make important judgments on whether the case you’re on is complete or not. Going too quickly will mean leads can be missed, and going too slow means your suspect could get away.

Mainlining is the first title from Sam Read’s Rebelephant. Having tasted success as part of the team behind indie-hit, Dream, Sam formed Rebelephant as a vehicle for him to work alongside some of the games-industry’s most creative individuals. To help bring Mainlining to life Sam recruited some award-winning talent:

  • Jared Emerson-Johnson (musician whose work includes Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones and more)
  • Jill Murray (writer behind Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation and most recently Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate)
  • Dave Grey (an extraordinary pixel artist whose previous collaborations include the likes of Microsoft and HBO)
