Moons of Madness is an Upcoming Cosmic Horror Game from Funcom

Moons of Madness is an upcoming cosmic horror title that is set in the same universe as Secret World Legends, coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Slated to arrive in the Halloween season this year, it’s set on Mars in a not-so-distant future. Moons of Madness aims to combine the exploration of the Red Planet as well as Lovecraftian dread and horror.

Players control Shane Newehart, who is a technician stationed at the Invictus – a secret research base built by the Orochi group. Since you have a low-security clearance, you have no idea what supernatural dread lurks in the darkness of Mars.  Your job is simply to keep the lights on until the transport ship Cyrano arrives bringing with it a new team to take over your duties.

“With Funcom’s support we have been given the opportunity to do all the things we wanted to do with the game and the story,” said Ivan Moen, CEO of Rock Pocket Games. “Moons of Madness has been an internal passion project of ours, one that we’ve worked on in-between other titles for other publishers, and now being able to fully focus on it and put all our creative energy into it is a dream come true.”

Generation Zero Is Now Available on PC and Console

Generation Zero is set in 1980s Sweden and really captures that 80s feel with the aesthetic. The population has disappeared and hostile machines have overrun the countryside. Players will have to unravel this mystery and do battle with the rampaging machine uprising. Players won’t be alone though – they can team up in groups up to 4 so they can ultimately fight these machines off.

“Every game we release is equally important for us, but the launch of Generation Zero is exciting as it’s the start of a new action franchise that we will evolve in close collaboration with our players over the coming years. We have a great history of building action-packed open world games together with tier one publishers, but this is the first action game we release within our self-publishing organisation,” says Pim Holfve, CEO of Avalanche Studios.

”The team is thrilled to finally get Generation Zero into the hands of players around the world and start receiving impressions and feedback,” says Paul Keslin, Product Owner at Avalanche Studios. “We’re looking forward to sharing more about our plans for what lies ahead, but more importantly we want to shape those plans together with the community. This collaboration will impact the world of Generation Zero in the months and years ahead!”

Havocado Arrives on Steam Early Access in April

In Havocado, four “human-shaped figures” are dumped onto a deserted island, and weapons/vehicles start appearing from nowhere. Four players, fifty weapons, and the last floppy person standing wins. Havocado is a hyper-speed multiplayer physics fighting game, where you punch, shoot, drive and use magic to destroy the other three players. Players are not confined to the island setting either. There are also other arenas to do battle in, such as a boxing arena or an oil rig. Havocado is coming to Steam’s Early Access on April 25th.

“With Havocado, I looked pretty exhaustively, at games that worked for YouTube but never really took off for gamers. I played all these games and found, I think, what didn’t work so well for gamers. So, really — by process of elimination — we arrived at Havocado. I pitched this to our new Webble team and together we made a game which isn’t only good fun to play but also really fun to watch.

“Today we are playing Havocado together with our Discord players and you’re all invited! It’ll be a blast but — for us at Webble — this is also work. We are fine-tuning all the fun in the alpha build and this will help the game make the right impression with players when it arrives on Steam EA next month.”

Journey to the Savage Planet Reveals Environmental Teaser

Journey to the Savage Planet is an upbeat first-person adventure/exploration title, and they show off this beautiful world today. You are an employee of Kindred Aerospace, which touts its rating as the “4th Best Interstellar Exploration Company”. They will have to explore the fictitious planet AR-y 26, with high hopes but little equipment and no plan.

“As a studio we have a deep love of Golden Age science fiction, but it feels like some of the positivity and sense of adventure has been lost in recent years,” said Alex Hutchinson, creative director and Typhoon Studios co-founder. “There are too many dystopias for my tastes, so we wanted Journey to the Savage Planet to give space exploration its sense of adventure back in homage to those early sci fantasies and add a comedic twist. This teaser is just a small taste of what we’ve been working on; we can’t wait to show off more in the coming months.”
