AI: The Somnium Files for Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 43
AI: The Somnium Files is set in a near-future Tokyo, where Kaname Date, a detective, is on the case of a mysterious serial killer. Going over the crime scenes is key, as well as dreams to hunt for clues. From the mind of Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape series director), with character design by the Yusuke Kozaki (NO MORE HEROES, Fire Emblem series), a thrilling neo-noir detective adventure is about to unfold.
A new journey has arrived, developed by FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. A dark world filled with brutal enemies and the difficulty expected of FromSoftware arrives around the world today. With veritical exploration, intricate sword combat, and intense encounters, it’s available on Playstation 4, Xbox, and PC via Steam.
Players control the One-Armed Wolf and is willed to obey and protect using his new prosthetic arm in order to restore his honor, rescue his master (The Divine Heir) and exact revenge on his enemies at all costs. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice offers reward-based exploration as players uncover new items, meet new characters, encounter hidden challenges, and learn more about the rich lore within the game.
“Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a game set in Japan’s Sengoku era and portrays the great battle faced by a lone, one-armed shinobi. Withered and ruined landscapes combined with a vibrant color palette make for a game world that is true to the FromSoftware style, in which the player is always one step away from death. It is our hope that new and old fans alike will enjoy our shinobi’s journey; rich with intense and dynamic combat,” said Hidetaka Miyazaki, President of FromSoftware and Director of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Okay, so I’m changing the format of this series a little bit. Instead of one week, I’m going to do these in two-week segments. There are definitely weeks where there isn’t much to discuss or announce, so we’re going to shift it just a little bit. There is some pretty great stuff coming to the Nintendo over the next few months, as well as this beautiful month of March! A good example is the 26th of March, where Final Fantasy VII arrives! Then Colton’s most-anticipated game for the foreseeable future – Yoshi’s Crafted World is on the way on March 29th, 2019. It’s another adorable Yoshi game, and I’m sure it’s going to sell absolute piles of copies.
April’s got a lot of fun releases that you’re sure to hear from me again about – Specifically Final Fantasy X/X-2, and Final Fantasy XII, on April 16th and 30th respectively. But it’s more than just Square-Enix RPGs, I swear. Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright Trilogy hits the Switch on April 9th 2019 from Capcom, and I know a bunch of people excited for that. Finally, The Lord of the Rings Living Card Game will hit the Switch sometime in April. I don’t know when, but it’s presently scheduled to arrive. But more important than the horizon – what’s out in this last two weeks?
Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Everybuddy! (March 20th, 2019): The “Final Fantasy Fables” series is back with another of the beloved Mystery Dungeon games! Chocobo and his best pal Cid are here to travel through endless dungeons and befriend a host of different Final Fantasy monsters! The world is shaped by your actions, but things only move when Chocobo does. It’s adorable, and I’m always glad to see the Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon come back with another title. Plus it’s also a co-op game, and the world needs more fun, cute games that are also two player. Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon looks super cute and also looks like a lot of fun. It’s high on my list right now for “games I want to play when I’m finally through reviewing stuff”. (39.99)
Turok (March 18th, 2019): Turok is one of the first Nintendo 64 games I played. As I didn’t own one, I played the N64 over at one of my best friends place, and he happened to have Turok, alongside Killer Instinct and Super Mario 64. So imagine my surprise that the original Turok game was remastered in a new game engine, given some new features, and released on the Switch! It has 14 incredible guns, including the incredibly badass Atomic Fusion Cannon! How can you go wrong with something that powerful? The dinosaurs also have variable degrees of aggression to make them react differently to you, but they still have to be defeated. Turok is a classic, and though every game in the franchise wasn’t a hit, this one was. (19.99)
Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered (March 21st, 2019): Now, I never really got into the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and I felt even less drawn to Assassin’s Creed 3. It followed Connor, an assassin who was half Native American, half British, drawn to this conflict of freedom in America. It’s a decades-long battle for freedom and thanks to the plight of his village, he’s ultimately drawn into this battle. This re-release of Assassin’s Creed 3 also features all of the solo DLC missions/content, so there is an absolute mountain of people that need to be murdered. I will say though, Assassin’s Creed 3 does feature one of my favorite potential missions in the “Tyranny of King Washington” DLC. I like the idea of seeing what would happen if George Washington went absolutely mad with his unlimited power, instead of working towards democracy. So, this is now available on the Switch and should you have missed it/want to assassinate on the go, this is for you. (39.99)
The next thrilling Zombies adventure in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is arriving next Tuesday for Black Ops Pass owners. “Ancient Evil” beckons the intrepid foursome from the Chaos Storyline – Bruno, Diego, Scarlett and Shaw – in a brand-new adventure into an underground Greek city to face off against new varieties of the undead.
Deck of Ashes revealed the “Camp” function today, and the various NPCs you can encounter while there. These characters offer goods and services to increase the power of your Battle Decks, can restore your health, and so much more. These products are updated every in-game day, and it’s vital to check these out as often as possible to recover cards for free or to fully heal. Upgrades can also be purchased in a skill tree for each Camp ally, using resources collected while adventuring. These upgrades are important and can change the outcome of the game itself, so it’s key to be aware of what they can do. An upgraded Camp Ally will offer more in-game currency for their wares, and also offer higher-tier services.
The Camp Allies Include:
The Ash Master: As the Prophet who guides players to Lady Death herself, The Ash Master possesses the power to revive cards spent in battle, perform the Ritual of Resurrection that prevents permadeath (a service that is by no means cheap), and send cards to the Deck of Ashes, where they can be restored at any time.
The Herbalist: As a healer and alchemist of sorts, the Herbalist can restore a player’s health, treat diseases picked up while adventuring, and pump various key attributes, such as speed, strength, max health, and more.
The Merchant: As the Camp’s peddler, the Merchant can buy recipes and exchange certain resources for others. When upgraded, the Merchant can buy resources for gold.
The Blacksmith: As the Camp’s lifeline, the Blacksmith is responsible for creating cards that can be used in savage Battle Decks. Conversely, the Blacksmith may destroy cards, giving players a small out of Ash in return, which can be used for making other cards. Passive abilities and talents can also be acquired from the Blacksmith, such as the ability to increase the chance of a “critical hit” by 10%.
Scorpion, Skarlet, Jade, Kabal and Baraka await in the March Beta of Mortal Kombat 11? It runs from March 28th-31st, 2019. Pre-orders will give access to the Beta. Who will you play as?
