Dread Nautical Coming to Apple Arcade
Dread Nautical is a title coming to the forthcoming Apple Arcade service, by Zen Studios. When Apple Arcade launches in Fall 2019, Dread Nautical will arrive with it. This tactical, turn-based RPG will also have roguelike elements and a cartoonish, but eerie tone. A cruise liner known as the Hope has been beset by malevolent forces, and players will play as one of four characters. With unique touchscreen controls, they will explore the 20 randomly generated ship decks, seeking food, supplies, and safety. They will come across 13 other survivors, who may join in the fight, based on how the player deals with them. Planning and tactics are key to surviving this vacation.
Mel Kirk, Vice President of Publishing discussed Dread Nautical:
“Earlier this year, Operencia: The Stolen Sun spoke to Zen Studios’ commitment to creating top-tier indie titles with the polish of triple-A releases, just as the Pinball FX series has for over a decade—and this momentum is only growing with Dread Nautical. At the same time, we’re incredibly excited to be one of the first games released for Apple Arcade. Apple has truly honored us with this opportunity, and we take it as a great compliment to the game’s quality that it is among the first wave of new titles for the service.”
Travian: Legends Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Codex Victoria
Travian Games is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its flagship title, Travian: Legends, with a special community event: Codex Victoria.
In this special event, players choose one of five Travian tribes to begin a village. Set on a map of ancient Europe, players join alliances and take certain roles and tasks to conquer different regions of the ancient European area. The game is still fun and challenging, as only one group of players can win the game. Reworked visuals for each tribal village and the game interface have been added, as well as more detailed player statistics and game features.
A special behind the scenes video showcases how the Travian: Legends team has worked on the title, and features interviews with expert players and game director Eckart Foos.
Jörg Strathaus, CEO of Travian Games, said via press release:
“We at Travian Games really appreciate the support of our live games. We are extremely happy with how Travian: Legends evolved over the years. As CEO, I’m very proud of all those people working on the game giving their best to constantly improve it. We definitely do not stop at 15 years and already have some new and exciting plans for the near future.”
