It's an alien, taking the form of a statue, that can only move when no one is looking at it. It's from a british scifi/comedy in lieu of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Except much more mature and emotionally involved, a few episodes have actually left me in tears. Definitely worth watching.
