I got it! Dezzy's father was German, and he was the one in Aria's cabin! Yeah, he was making some cash, but became stingy and separated himself from his could-be life with Dezzy and her mother. Stranded without money and a job to take care of her only daughter, the both of them were left to their tragic fate while Dezzy's father moved on with his life. Thus, he and her were shot due to reasons still unsolved. :o Am I close or is that just a load of BS I made up? Were some of the answers even given, or is this a mystery far from solved with no clues whatsoever until later?

Oh, one more thing, I just read your OOC comment, and I thought I'd make this clear (it's at the bottom of my latest post as well) the German died in your cabin, so yeah, maybe you missed that part? Or I don't know, but it's there so yeah, you do get to participate! Yay!

So my characters life had a purpose! lol, yeah, it stinks. But oh well, I just wish not so many people woul have picked convicts. I mean, I had a reason to pick myself as a convict (which you already saw).
