  1. i shouldve done this in pm's without the gay word limit.

so yeah basically peoples perspective on crime is usually off-centre, and its not because the government is hiding statistics or making up false claims. its because the majority of people dont understand where these stats come from, how they are compiled and what they actually mean. they often just look at the results and say "yeah well in my neighbourhood a guy got stabbed and my friend got mugged last week" and thats their conclusion on the situation.

theres lots of things that have to be taken into account like geographical location, levels of poverty/economic stability, ethnic makeup and a million other things.

govts dont hide this info (at least not in the west) because by law these statistics have to be released and made available to the public as well as governing bodies.
  2. eventually a car arrives and the officer asks the kids to play elsewhere. kids move off, the officer chats to the lady, he goes on his way, the fear is averted and everythings fine.

now although no crime was committed this whole incident STILL ends up on a report and gets lumped in with all the other statistics. it goes down under the social disorder section and is looked at along with all the other disorder reports by an analyst.

these analysts then compose reports for the govt. so although nothing actually happened, the fact that fear of crime existed means that a disorder report was filed thus adding to the disorder statistics for that year. in essence 1 "crime statistic" has been invented out of thin air where no crime or criminal charges existed.

therefore this skews reports because a report saying "8% of crime this year was social disorder" doesnt take into account this could be anything from a family row turning into a fist fight or a couple of kids hanging in the street.
  3. actually dude that thing about government reported crime being alot lower than in reality.... thats largely false.

its false because most of the time people suffer from a fear of crime rather than crime itself. thats why people are always saying "we need more cops on the street" and thats why in the UK we have pretend police officers called PCSO's. people like to see lots of police walking about because it makes them feel safer and lessens the FEAR of crime.

example, some old lady sees some kids hanging around outside her house. they arent doing anything except talking and doing gay wheelies on their bmx's... but the old lady doesnt like it because it makes her uneasy (fear of crime) so she calls the police.

another thing that might actually be important to all people to understand, government reports on crimes and such are not even 80% accurate. If they say a city's robbery rate is 30% it is actually alot higher, possibly up to 45%~50%. Obviously if they stated the correct ratting it would cause a city wide panic, and no would want to live their etc. etc.
People will ***** to the authoritys with questions like "Why aren't you preventing this??" etc. etc. of course they will reply with "We need more fundings/tax money.".

So by looking from this point of view, we can see that the FBI's report on the going on crimes in other countries (specially in 3rd world countries), is alot higher then we hear and see from International/National News Medias. The 3rd world countries and other problematic ones are pretty much already 70~80% fu*ked, that is why ppl migrate to other places...I have known alot of ppl who left/ran away from those countries and came to live in New Zealand.
  5. MSG: Uprising :P
Yeah, I understand your statements and feelings. But I guess some people never look at the obvious(or not enough of it), and then started blabbering on how the whole fault was a group/organization's(Governments or w/e). When the "fact" is we are all human beings, "We/Us/Our" have been stabbing our selfs and other humans in the back for a long long time...oh shi- i said i wasn't gona keep going sorry

Anyway, fu*k that shit. Have a good day sir.
  6. Grrrrrrr, dont go on about how bad crime is getting or how widespread it is. its all relative. compare statistics from government reports and you'll see what i mean.... but right now, urge to kill... rising
