My rant on "flamers of WAR"

We've all heard it. WAR is just a theme-park mmo , WAR is just a clone of WoW , Play Darkfall you *insert insult* theme-park mmo playing *insert insult*. WAR is much different from WoW in many ways that we all know such as PvP/RvR. But what reallllllly got me pissed was the comments on here http://news.mmosite.com/content/2008...88.shtml#notop especially Xylona's post who flames the combat system which can be found pretty much in all mmos in which case i am about to flame him/her
1. "Must be closer to target to cast spell" - Wth you want to do cast it from a mile away??
2. "Must face target to attack" - .....no shit you gotta face your target to attack wtf you gonna aim at the air?
3. "Too close to target to cast" - This is a legit complaint cus it is annoying when i'm on my engineer and i cant shoot at the big ass orc in front me and instead i gotta use my spanner but i guess its Mythic's way of balancing
4. " Just give me click and cast" - Go play Ragnarok online then
These flamers most likely havent played WAR yet. WAR is a game solely based on a balance of Open-World combat, Scenarios and Quest. You are able to level to 40 solely doing one. Where as in WoW you would have to move ur ass around EVERYWHERE to get to lv 70 in about a 3 weeks to 5 weeks. I'm not going to deep into this cus i'm crazy sleepy from playing all night so cya.
I've played WAR in cb and i'm already hooked (lv 23 White Lion)

The series started before the Warcraft series, but WAR is attempting to copy some of the successful aspecs of WoW.

What aspects... The aspects of a mmo which you can kill stuff? The only thing that you can say thats unique about WoW is it's Lore and it's Battlegrounds i guess.

Yes the warhammer series did start up before WoW and ultimately Warcraft. You could actually say Warcraft is a WoW clone because I believe Blizzard tried to license Warhammer first but Mythic got it but at the time Blizzard already had some Warcraft I stuff done so they simply changed it into their own series

A successful aspect isn't always another way of saying a unique aspect. Though I wouldn't know, if WAR is copying some of the more solid gameplay aspects of WoW, more power to them. Something new and cool is always welcome, but I want solid gameplay as the foundation either way.

It's a fact that the Warhammer SERIES has been around longer than Warcraft of course, but were talking about their respective MMO's here. Also, though it is funny how sad these complaints are, I'm dissapointed in this rant because

You know, this topic makes me want to rant about the zealous defenders of WAR and FFXI, who are practically mimicking the behavior of a certain group of people defending a certain MMORPG like it's a religion, which is pretty funny considering the fact that 70% of them bashed that certain MMO at one point.

no, simply no, I could come up with a very elaborated way of explaining how WoW it's actually a clone, an amalgam of a lot of good aspects from other mmorpgs so saying one mmorpg it's a copy of WoW it's futile since it's meaningless by itself, but then again I'm tired of doing so

WAR fanbois vs WoW fanbois. Hmmm.... This will be a very interesting show. Hopefully WW3 doesn't start out like this.

This is half right and half wrong. Lots of WoW players play WoW atm just to kill time while waiting for WAR.

Are you american lol? If so it shouldn't matter, especially seeing as your at high school age. I'm not even typing with perfect punctuation and stuff but yea :P

Anyway I've seen some topics in the wrath of the lich king forum that actually praise WAR instead of flaming it and talk about them probably moving to WAR before Wotlk comes out.
