Throw in the Quicktime Alternative that they also have, and you don't need to deal with Apple's shitty windows ports of it's software.
Oh, great! Thanks Fabiannn.
Be sure to grab real player alternative too. :3
I use k-lite mega codec pack it plays about every video format so you could try that mate
I wouldn't use a codec pack.
I don't really see the need to install so much crap when you don't need it.
Really... all you need is the xvid codec as majority of downloads and such will work with it.
If you need ac3 filter, get that too.
Less than 2 megs download and you can play 99% of files....
Any reason for a code pack? I can't think of any (aside from potentially being buggy)
ogg, mkv, various avi containers, m2ts, hdmov, 3gp, and more.
And one codec may take care of most videos, but what about when he downloads an ogg? Or a mkv?
mkv being popular in anime rips, acounts for a lot of video files.
And codec packs are only buggy if you get a poorly compiled one which is just a bunch of codecs slapped together.
There are some codecs that are incompatible with others, and if you download the seperate you may still be getting incompatible codecs. If you get them together from a good source, like k-lite, they have been tested and they work together
Theres also managing subtitles, various audio tracks, etc.
