Which game is it? There are tons of games with horrible grind but which one is the MOST HORRIBLE(talking about the grind - not the game itself) one?
For me, it's SRO.
Oh and...ignore the item malls.

I know there's a game where max level is like 1400 and highest level char was like 500 or something. **** if I could remember the name.
Oh and I tried and you needed to grind from like level 7.
Rohan. Duh.
Ragnarok Online with 1/1/1 rates :x
a close tie between RO and Trickster
Lineage 1. You cannot get any grindier than that.
Flyff at level 75+ it gets ridiculous when your getting .01 at level 100. 100 monster = 1% shiiiit.
Nostale is also a grinder, though it really makes up for the fact you can one hit monsters.
I don't know but in SRO, it takes like 1 day + to level up at around 35. And the level cap is 90. FOR **** SAKE.....how can this be topped?
Shaiya Online.....good gawd. First character you make must hit lvl 50 to unlock next mode, then another 50 to unlock the last mode. Last mode takes ages to level up, and if you die, you lose that character. F*** that shit.
Kal online maybe? it has been out for many years and the max lvl is like...73 :P tho i don't know the lvl cap.
Hmmm if you count resets there is no max level in MU so I guess that would win, even to get to a reset is worse than a lot of games.
9Dragons is pretty bad, Flyff is bad especially now that you can reset to 60 and get half exp, twice. Maple Story max is also up there.
Scions of fate, yulgang
Well, it took a couple years. I didn't really play too much per day, just leveled a hammerdin to 99. However, it wasn't a horrible grind. Repetitive, yes; Grind, no. For me, horrible grinds scare me away from games, like generic Asian MMOs. D2 path to 99 seemed a bit more relaxed then most other MMOs path to the level cap. Even RO (3/2/2) felt more tiring.
Uhh I don't know what would be grind king for me lol well I think RO. Trickster grind king? Lol? That game is not grindy at all when I was playing I got my lion to 100 in a day with all key and normal quests and grinding..
Wait, what?
You grinded, but it's not grindy?
I've been confused on a lot of people's responses in threads lately O_o
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grind_(gaming)
he King of Grind is without a doubt Kal Online.
from lvl 65 onwards it take like 2-3 months of continous lvling (8h+ a day) each lvl ...
its the good old l2 rates .. but you dont have to fill the xp-bar just once .. you have to fill it 4 .. ill repeat that .. 4 times for 1 lvl up!
Ehh fine I mean I leveled, man I totally said that last post wrong. I mean I leveled by killing monsters for awhile but its nowhere near as bad as any other games ive played.
And by killing monsters I call that grindy, rofl I know im nib
I thought Maple Story was the king of grind. But from all the responses, I guess every game will become insane half way through.
rohan. to any1 who said that it's not grindy.... wow i dunno what u were on while playing it.. but its the most grindy game ive ever played, and im saying this after having played games like sro(also at the top of the grinds), flyff, rappelz, maplestory.
even when there are one-time-quests and repeatables to give u that extra boost in exp now and then, the quests themselves are incredibly grindy. its also the reason why over 50% of the population has to resort to bots, hacking, and buying pre-leveled characters in the exchange market.
9dragons most definitely, the game has been out at least a year so far and no one has even gotten halfway to cap O_O
http://9dragons.acclaim.com/
i forgot about rappelz! that might take MS's place. after all I could make it to 45 on MS before I quit. The grind was so bad on rappelz that I quit soon after getting off tutorial island.:-/
i was talking about Deicide =p not ms
RoW if anyone can remember this game.
Max cap is lvl 60.
Oh, I just remembered the most grindiest game ever..
FF11 (Online, duh.)
This is why -- they made a new patch that you can optionally DL (I think its optional) and you fight a "secret" boss. A guild attempted that boss, and never beat the boss. The fight was over 12 hours they had to stop the fight people were falling asleep at there comps and they became pyhsically ill, just lost all the will in there bodies to move, they passed out techincally.
(If that counts as grind) Google it if you dont believe me.
Edit: Found it http://petfoodalpha.com/?p=1055 also it was 18 hours long not 12. My bad.
Edit2: I win.
i think deicide wins it had no quests last time i checked and also sro should win with get 200X and a drop rate of 1:1000 and 0.00001 exp per kill it wins by far.
i'm thinking games that dont have a numerical player level, like counter strike
once you've reached a certain level, no matter how long you play and how hard you try, some people are still gonna own you
grind for me is kinda complicated. for example a game i enjoy but get 0.01% exp in i wont call grindy as fast as a boring game where i get 0.01% =p it really depends on gameplay, graphics, leveling speed alltogether for me. (and the amount of time till i feel like 'hmm i dont want to kill this monster anymore')
In iRO my brother could get to 99 non-transcendent in less than a week because he has a full time High Priestess friend. So iRO isn't that grindy. Until you hit level 90 transcendent of course but you'll still get 0.1 in Lighthalzen at 98 which is a lot.
To get back on topic, I would say SRO. Next stop, MapleStory. Then Archlord.
Maplestory and SRO for me guys, sorry but it's just unberaeable at high levels specially for Maple, and another one it's MU online, I ****ing hate the grind in that game with a reliogius passion
Grinding in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is pretty awesome.
I would have to say that the king of grind is MS. If a game makes me quit because of grind, something has gone horribly wrong.
