Bruce Springsteen to play Super Bowl half-time show

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will play live during the Superbowl XLIII half-time show in Florida next year.

The event will take place in Tampa Bay on February 1.

Reuters reports that 148 million viewers watched Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers perform at the last Superbowl in Glendale, Arizona earlier this year.

Other acts who have played the slot in recent years include Sir Paul McCartney, Janet Jackson, Prince and U2.
