Genres that I already listen to is a bit of Classic Rap, Love songs like Barry White or The Four Tops, metal bands like Zonaria, Metallica, etc., and some techno. I think I missed something - oh yeah! - I don't listen to mainstream, thank you very much.

Nah hip-hop is easier to listen to, they have pop like beats but incorporates rap style lyrics.
Rap let alone is hard and in your face IMO. Old school rap is true rap, and mainstream rap is called hip-hop.
Try comparing something old like 5-10 years ago and compare a rap song from today. You will notice that its quite different.
