Problems with Visual Basic

i have a problem....
im supposed to put together a karnaugh map minimizer in VB for a project, but its the first semester they have taught it to us. Now the complexity is that the functions have to be inserted directly and the user has to be able to choose the function converages themselves. If anyone is good in VB plz let me know how to resolv this problematic project (at the moment im thinking of making it with datagrid but i cant make wrap my mind around the code it produces)
