Hitler was not democratically elected, no matter how you want to hide it in some bs semenatics of "being legal". Further, what part of the Night of Long Knives was "legal"?

How was it not legal? Not that I'm arguing with you, but I really want to know. As I said before, I don't know much about Hitler.
I slightly remember doing a report on Hitler. Basically he did legally get into office, but it was during what was sumwhat a state of emergency. It was after he'd gained amazing popularity, which was all part of his plan to come to power. So basically ppl really liked him, before he got into power and destroyed everything. That popularity is why the public allowed him to do so much.
Once again i cant remember the details and shit. Anyways, neither candidate is Hitler, even if they tried, so shush.
Why the hell are you guys talking about Hitler.
He promised his people to take Germany out of the rubble and he did.. but it got to his head and he ****ed up and made it worse in the end.
End story for him.
Why the hell haven't the mods locked this.
Go Obama!
Yeah he was elected in a time of panic, and yeah it was bullshit largely due to propaganda abusing the time, but he was elected to his office non the less.
Dictators tend to be very charismatic. Also, the conditions Germany was in at that time aren't similar to the ones the US is in. Germany had authoritarian traditions; the US doesn't. There were expansionist movements going on back then; not right now. There was a very fast population increase in Germany; I don't think that's the case in the US.
Hitler ran for chancellor, but lost in a landslide. However, through coercionhe got the chancellor to sign power over to him. With his newly granted powers he elimnated all potential opponents to him politically, from outlawing tose parties to actually killing off their members/leader (night of longh knives). Then basically you only had one man ever running for election from then on out, something like the elcetions you would see in Zimbabwe or related banana republics. And if you don't know wtf you are talking about, cease to talk. Thanks.
If Obama is elected, just think about all the black jokes you can make... If people try to pull out the race card, pull out a picture of Obama. Plus he supports abortions, so if you support Obama, you support killing innocent babies.
Lol, the US has no ****ing traditions at all, from that viewpoint, so there is no difference really.
Hearing this sort of talk is really pathetic, no off, BbH, you are still making more sense than the rest, but still.
@OP:
What the hell are you talking about the night of long knives...
All other parties had already been outlawed long ago, were do you digg up that crap?
About what?
a) Hitler did not win the election, he forced the parliament to change the constitution in his favour which is a classic coup d'état.
b) He never won any democratic election whatsoever.
c) Influences in him gaining power were the veterans and the workers who had no job.
d) Hitler did not give them jobs, he put them into labor camps, were they were forced to work even though under humane conditions concerning the standards, as the labor camps were organized in a pseudo-military fashion.
At least they had food there.
His policies had no to miner influence on the economy, which started to turn uphill, before he got into power.
e) Germany stopped following the contract of Versailles before Hitler was in power.
f) Tradition played no role in this at all.
The former emperor was loathed, pretty much everything traditional and old was hated with passion.
Coming from a time called the "golden 20s" in Germany, the economy crisis was opening a totally new chapter in it's history, that can't be compared to anything before.
What else?
I guess so. How about those Republican homicides?
I would have suggested you make this topic in about 9 months when you can actually have a chance at having a valid point. But at this current time you have no way to actually argue that Obama has officially won or that he will be a horrible president. He has not done anything as president yet (wow since he isn't it yet). You can speculate that he will be horrible but if that is the case then you should write it like that. Posts like this are just aggravating and pointless spam from a single minded individual that believes they know everything about the future and we are screwing it up this very minute.
On a side note: regardless of Obama or McCain I could never have allowed someone like Palin to be the VP or P. If McCain had chosen someone else he probably would have won.
I don't need to. You might need 9 months, but I'm far above the standard curve.
Anyone with a brain in their head would have realized the post was indeed speculation. But I guess you missed it. Hardly surprising coming from the person who doesn't "get" basic hyperbole.
