I don't think we will exist but something else might pick it up then. You should always hope I guess.
If we are still alive our planetary defence will think its a missle and shoot it down....
I'm sure they might have ways of detecting what is a threat and what is not.
50000 years is too long... the messages will be so old they'll have to decode our language.
make it maximum 1000 years. no 1000 is still too long....100 years!
lol true, did anyone even put anything?
I foresee someone stealing this thing with their spaceship and selling it on Ebay2099 for a few trillion credits or whatever. Antiques are expensive!
The ignorance of this thread is surprising.
It is highly possible the human race will still be alive. We may have moved to another planet, but some of you forget we as a species have been here for over two-hundred thousand years. The earliest hominids are estimated to be around 5 million years.
Oh and just becuase we are starting to over populate doesn't mean everyone will just die off from it. It's possible that if we don't find alternate sources of energy then we might run into problems but it won't wipe us out.
Well I did mine. I feel good =D.
I just hope someone will read it.
Agreed, it's highly doubtful that the human race will be completely wiped out in 50,000 years, or even a million years for that matter.
There are probably hundreds of different possible scenarios, but let's go over the basic ones here.
Overpopulation - Besides the fact that we'd pretty much definitely be residing upon other planets besides Earth before that becomes any sort of problem, overpopulation isn't going to end human existence.
Asteroid/meteor/comet/whatevergiantspacerockthinggoboom - We will, way before the year 52,008, advance to weapons capable of easily disintegrating your average miles-wide meteor. Possibly even in the next couple hundred of years.
Earth running out of natural resources - This is just... not going to happen. With water filters become more and more advanced, we're never going to run out of fresh water, and oil... well let's just say we're not going to kill each other over oil. Alternative energy is being pursued by all nations.
Sun exploding? - Not gonna happen for billions of years.
Zombie apocalypse? - Lol.
Aliens coming and laying eggs inside us and popping out of our bodies to take over the world? - Lol.
Yeah. I really can't see ANYTHING happening that would completely wipe out the human race.
lol. the earth might already be destroyed by then.
I sent a message. It's a rather odd feeling knowing nobody will read it until 50,000 years later.
I'd want to include a picture or a message about what life is like now.
I'd think about all the things we ask ourselves about OUR past, and try to answer them for future inhabitants.
I'd include another picture that is the opposite of what life is like now, just to confuse them. **** future guys. Right in the ass.
2012 is the zombie apocalypse. end of story. ;)
50 000 years....thats a long way.
Am I the only one that thought of Fallout 3 Fallout 3 fallout 3?
Its just so weird. I feel...weird now. What is this fuzzy feeling?
I don't know what to write..
I want to write something long and awesome-o but the only thing that comes to me is ''Hello world, this end sucks, how about you?''.
