I don't think it's gonna be beaten. WoW has around 110 million fans around the world.

Not exactly true. WoW is really popular in Korea and China and the fans of WoW in those countries are crazy. Killing people in RL, leaving baby at home to go to internet cafe to play WoW. Aion IMO is a fad that will die out. Not sure what it features but i do think that the only reason it overtook WoW in internet cafe game time is probably because they want to see what the game is like.Quote:

wow had luck cause it had already a huge fanbase, and thats what made wow successfull. The immense playerbase that u wont find in any other mmorpg.
and we wont forget that at the time that wow came out the influence of japanese characters was huge. we had right back then the japan comic-style boom. so wow was in the right released.
I didnt like wow since the beta stage, but thats me anyway.
The reason everyone always compares new games to wow is because currently all games are aiming to beat wow and till one does all p2p games will be compared to it it was the same thing back when eq was top dog once something comes that beats wow the same thing will happen with it.

The game is awesome and addictive like no other.
PS: The requirements are surprisingly low considering it looks amazing even in low settings. A 6600 and a P4 runs it smoothly (a clannie played the OB with that shitty computer), any "gamer" has better stuff nowadays, a 300$ setup can play Aion.
WOW needs to have a competition. If blizzard don't have competition against other mmorpg then they are going to go lazy and WOW won't have that much updates anymore.
I looked at the vids again and wtf it looks like lineage 2 with super graphics and flashy skills n wings is that why everyone likes it?
korean gamers are totally different compared to EU and NA players,
different market, different mindset, well i HATE wow, but i dont think aion is good enuf..
yeah i heard aion own wow korea.... but dont expect too much... sometimes korean games failed on the translation ^^....
