no, not really.
not even close.
haha don't knock it.
until you've been to a show :]
You should not just post opinion threads though, not every one will like it.
Sure you like it, but not everyone else does.
I think is the best band ever, way better then your to be honest.
i've seen alexisonfire a shit load of times live.
they are good.
but i got one EVEN better.
You haven't been to a concert until you've been to one of these:
Oh my god, so many good memories. :(
that was not the best thing ever, nor was it one of them.
My best live concert experience:
I just found out MLIW broke up. :(
I saw them 3 times though. Every time they came to my area...so I don't feel AS bad.
I just watched your video Oisterboy and now I don't feel half as bad about the poorish sound quality in the one that I posted. That does look pretty fun, though. I've never seen a performance where the singer was so close to the crowd, for one thing.
posting live videos doesnt make ur fav band sound any good....now if u were there.. and shit it be a different story but videos of there concerts just turn there stuff into shit..
@ Oisterboy. i have been in PLENTY of those.
heres a show that i have been to that you wouldnt have want to been at.
i was at this show. and know ETID (the band) has it on a DVD called Sh*t happens.
and for another hardcore pit.
All Shall Perish (they are fkin insane live)
Who needs Modern Life Is War (As decent as they were), or any of these so-called "hardcore" bands when Converge exist?
I saw them with Modern Life Is War not long ago, I think it was on the Europa Rising tour.
This is becoming about live experiences, so I'll just say that Prince pretty much bends everyone else over and says "This is how you perform live.". That wouldn't be fair, cos Prince is better than everyone.
On that note, I'll say Tool or Rammstein.
I was actually at that gig, none of you were.
I'm a big dude, I can hold my own belieeeeeeeeeeve me XD I've seen a couple of big brawls :D
You know what concert I went to that was the PERFECT balance? Its gonna sound lame as ****...but MXPX :D It wasn't too violent, but it had a great amount of energy too. And it couldn't have just been because everyone there loved Jesus, because there was another band playing the same show that had nothing to do with all that :P
I saw MLIW with Converge too! I think the second time I saw MLIW and the 3rd time for Converge.
I have yet to go to a Tool concert. But if I did, I'd prolly be a bit...er...distracted ;)
one of their songs changed me for life...won't bother boring anyone with details >_<
Dude i love my hardcore metal.
But MxPx is a great band.
im excluded from that convo.
cause i've never heard of tool.
I only like Hardcore Metal.
Screams(high and low), Pig Squeals, Inhales, Blast Beats, Double Bass, Epic guitar riffs.
I'm afraid I am either slow or that's a personal reference I'd not get anyway, or a third thing.
Second, really, because I'm not slow.
I'm assuming you'd be high? If you get high to Tool it should be to the music, not live. You can't see them live at will. If they're making the effort to travel the country and perform, you should at least watch them sober.
They are, after all, one of the single greatest, most instrumentally talented bands ever.
ill check em out.
hopefully its good.
My favourite Tool song, personally is Ticks & Leeches. Too bad they don't perform that live (well, when they do, very rarely, the vocals are apparently synthesized somehow, not sure how that works) because the singer almost broke his voice even recording it. The drumming is incredible.
heres perfect examples of my music.
Suicide Silence (MY favorite band)
Emmure(2nd Fav)
But if you want a song that is all blood-curdling screams... have you ever heard this song before?
don't just dismiss it out of hand because it has the CoF name on it either. Old CoF were awesome, no matter what you may think of some of their newer albums (for one thing, I don't think Dani is even capable of screaming quite like this anymore)
Also, check out the Queen of Winter Throned (mind you listen to the full song, 10:27), which I couldn't post on here because the album cover features illustrated nudity
Quote:
When the sun has wept upon the waveless lake
And the mists steal in with ease
Covened wolves are their eerie dissonant napes
In adoration of the moon and thee
"They call as I to thee...."
And I will come, as if in dream
My languid, dark and lustrous Malaresian Queen
Of vengeful, ancient breed
Gilded with the pelts of many enemies
Erishkigal, raven-haired
Thy seduction haunts the castle in erotic despair
I can taste thy scent by candlelight
Legs of porcelain traced and laced to their lair
Appease the beast on spattered sheets
Dyed unearthly red as sobriety weeps
Nocternity....
She shall come for me
A black velvet painting sprung to elegant life
Like a poignant Madonna perverted to night
And I have ridden from the westerning light
To expend my lust
Tear away the funereal dress
Know that I will escape from my death
Surrendered to the splendour of her sharpened caress
Lo! The pale moonlight
Weaves a poetic spell of vital death and decline
Of mist and moth and the hunger inside
Kisses took to fever and the fever, demise
"Through twilight, darkness and moonrise
My scarlet tears will run
As stolen blood and whispered love
Of fantasies undone"
Countess swathed in ebony
And snow-white balletic grace
Rouge-filmed lips procure the wish
For lust and her disgrace
Dusk and her embrace
We shall flit through the shadows
Like a dream of (were)wolves in the snow
Under deadly nightshade
Still warmed with the kill's afterglow
Beneath the stars thy flesh bedevils me
(Beneath the stars taste the death in me)
Bequeath to me thy fiery kiss
To sever thin mortality
Elizabeth
My heart is thine
Thy fragrant words Warm within like wine....
"Let me come to thee
With eyes like Asphodel
Moon-glancing, loose desires free
To writhe under my spell"
Ereshkigal, raven-haired
Thy seduction haunts the castle in erotic despair
I know thy scent by candlelight
Immortal flesh I yearn to share
Appease the beast on spattered sheets
Dyed malefic red as sobriety weeps
Nocternity
She shall come for me....
Unfurl thy limbs breathless succubus
How the full embosomed fog
Imparts the night to us....
Yea i've heard of CoF. I don't really like them.
Here just trust me.
LISTEN TO THIS BAND.
One of my TOP 10 Bands.
One of the best that fits my type of music.
and tell me if you know anything like this.
The worst song off that album is Haunted Shores, in my opinion.
Ironically, Dani's dreadful vocals on that song remind me of the kind of bands he likes.
Watch the video i just posted.
at 3:45 is the epic guitar riff
4:08 is the pig squeals and screams that i FREAKING LOVE.
4:26 is the start of the break down. ( ohhh i love breakdowns)
that was actually much better than I expected it to be. I don't often listen to that kind of music , though, so I can't help you. Also, I heard no harsh screaming at all in this song. I thought you said you only liked music with screaming?
It sounds like you didn't listen to that CoF song I posted, though. It sounds pretty much like nothing you'll have heard by them before (ie. their new stuff), so you can't judge it based on that. Listen to it :]
the despised icon is Inhale screams.
i have listened to CoF before.
Nemphetamine is an okay song.
but i don't really like the keyboard and stuff in that song. its just creepy as hell.
this band has a cool keyboard/synth though.
Parental Advisory Strongly Cautioned.
Like, I said, songs like Nymphetamine (especially the full Overdose version, with the pointless long intro and outro) sound NOTHING like what I posted. I'm not exaggerating. Nymphetamine is new CoF, Dusk and Her Embrace is old CoF.
and about the creepiness, you should know that CoF don't take themselves seriously at all. Listening to their music is the aural equivalent of watching a massively cheesey (but awesome) horror movie, and they know it.
Oh, and I think Dani Filth does exhale screaming. Probably one of the reasons his voice is in the shape it is now.
Here, maybe you'll prefer this, though.
Opeth - Master's Apprentices
oh yeah, I was here at this performance (click watch in high quality btw):
