I see what most of you seem to mean...I shouldn't worry about it, it's just a game.
It came up because he kept talking about how he can't play on school days, then asked what school I go to.
I should've just said 'you're getting too personal' rather than tell him I graduated and go from there.
I feel quite a bit better now <is a sensitive girl who gets nervous easily

Even in the most "cutesy" MMORPGS, the average player is usually at least in their mid-teens. I think I read somewhere that someone from Nexon said the average Maplestory player is around 19 or 20. Though Latale looks like it's made for someone pretty young, I think 11 is just too young for the genre so I wouldn't worry what their parents think. There probably are some ill-intentioned older people in the game and if I had an 11 year old I wouldn't be crazy about him/her socializing with older teens either. Personally, when I look for new games, I try to stay away from games that look like they're geared towards younger kids. I don't think it's bad for someone older to play them but I don't know why you would want to deal with people that young, not that all of them are bad. I still play Maplestory on and off but I meet a lot of people around my age still so I don't consider it to be a big deal.
It'd be creepy if you were hitting on them, but playing with younger people/older people isn't creepy at all.
Reminds me when I was playing a Pokemon orpg, I said my age and the kid thought I was a loser and every single other person on the map said their ages, and they were all 18+

I care more about maturity than age... Age just seems like an unimportant detail, the most important is how the person acts...
Seriously, knowing the age of a person when playing an online game is just as useless as knowing what he/she looks like, that'not what you should care about, you should just care about : is it fun to play with that person, after all you're playing for fun.... or at least you should be...

If people start asking my age, I just say random numbers then put my actual age somewhere in the middle of it and they would just think I'm ****ing with them. Honestly it's pretty fun when you have creative ways to give out your personal information.
I don't mind playing with 11 year olds, but there was this eight year old in a CSS clan I was also in and truth be told, he did not need a mic.. As long as kids are mature enough to not whine or be a nuisance, I have no problem with playing with them, hell, I'll even join a guild/clan led by a 13 year old or younger as long as they don't piss me off. Age isn't a factor when playing games, unless it has adult content.. That could be a problem...
best way to deal with it is dont ask for age at all.....ive bumped into too many minors in mmo's and have been weirded out by it but in the end im like eh w/e if i can game with my lil bro then why not these lil guys
You sound like a young kid trying to sound mature atm, Why cant people who are what 19-21 still play games? they dont play 24/7 like you maybe but they go on sometimes to enjoy and relax on a game and not work or go clubbing 24/7 and whats wrong if 19-21 or whatever interact with lil kids in a game not like their flirtting or trying to lure them to their houses or something.Quote:
