Why is there so much of a difference if it's the same thing? Still a felony.
It's still battery if you break a guy's nose or chip a tooth.
Does it make it less of an offense in the eyes of the law just because the amount of money involved is different? The intent is still there, so why do you still insist that there's a 'huge difference'.
It just sounds to me like you're giving a half assed excuse to justify your law breaking ways by making it sound like noone cares.
