Why is there so much of a difference if it's the same thing? Still a felony.

It's still battery if you break a guy's nose or chip a tooth.

Does it make it less of an offense in the eyes of the law just because the amount of money involved is different? The intent is still there, so why do you still insist that there's a 'huge difference'.

It just sounds to me like you're giving a half assed excuse to justify your law breaking ways by making it sound like noone cares.

Also; I only pirate books to make sure I like them first. My local library has a shit selection, and then I only get the book for a week until they start hounding me to get it back. Not to mention if I have the physical book in my possession it makes it hard for me to not just steal that lols. I mean, some books are great...after I read those great ones I buy them because I'd like to have them on a shelf for others to enjoy, etc (and printer ink is expensive). But sometimes I download a book and then its a piece of shit and I thank GOD I didn't pay $10 for it.

True, it is, and will always will be crime. But it's up to each individual to define pirating. For me personally, its a trivial offense. From the viewpoint of, lets say a lawyer, it might be a serious offense. That's my personal point of view, and in my opinion, stealing software over the internet does not equal stealing something in a shop.(Not talking about the judicial aspect here)

Almost everything I have software-wise is pirated.

Nevermind, everything I have is pirated. Even my Vista Ultimate I'm running my PC on.

The only things that are not pirated are my Xbox 360 games since I don't want to be banned from Xblive. >;(


And how I feel? Not bad, for now. I do now have any money and the prices for software is so freaking high that I have no other choice.

Although, you most likely can afford a CD, a game, a DVD. You just choose not to, which is worse. You can clearly afford monthly internet and a computer, Xbox 360, Xbox Live and Xbox games. Yet...oh, you simply cannot afford to buy music from iTunes or a store? I'm sorry, but to quote Doc Samson from the Hulk movie;
