I would consider MGS to be overrated to, but I'm guilty of enjoying the games too much to almost the point of "fanboy-ism" :(

I'm not saying it's a bad thing leeching off musicians, I didn't intend to come across that way. I meant that at the core of it, it's really just a rhythm game with a guitar shaped controller. There's no depth to it. The only reason it may appeal to people is because it can simulate the experience of playing popular music. There's nothing mind blowing about it, it's been redone a few times since the start of the franchise and it's really starting to get old.
I played 2 songs at my friend's place yesterday, then I couldn't stand it anymore, and I'm not even a regular player.
It's probably just me, I just find the whole thing to be totally not entertaining and overrated.To me, it simply isn't that amazing as everyone seems to makes the experience out to be.
Just Halo for me. I pretty much agree with most ratings or popular thoughts on other games.
I dont like WoW, but I can see why it would be very popular, dont understand all the hate. Same with MGS4, love that game myself (although it probably doesn't deserve the 10/10 rating it got on gamespot), but I dont consider it all that overrated.
IMO, a lot of you guys are being a little elitist.
I dunno. No games really seem overrated to me. I can understand why someone would like EVERY game...if its just not my thing theres no need for me to label it overrated.
If anything though, the Final Fantasy series. I hate those games >:(
