I am wondering what other countries think of America?
I am wondering what other countries think of America?
Even in USA, people who don't live in the south think we're all hillbillies who don't wear shoes or have electricity. <southern
As for the rest of the world...yeeeeah, they don't like us very much at all.
It really sucks to be generalized into the rest of america like that. I mean, I hate it just as much as the rest of the world, but theres nothing I can do.
i never disliked america in general
Those americans need to go back to Sweden where they came from.
erm, well I chat regularly with a few Americans on here, obviously you're not all bad :]
a few things that piss me off:
1) gun culture
2) The government's belief that it is above any law or convention.
3) Horrible mistreatment of Latin America.
4) Most Americans don't know anything about the rest of the world, and don't care.
5) Goddamn right wing talk radio. Shut that shit down, please.
6) The lead up to the election takes ****ing ages, and we hear about every stupid mind numbing detail, even in other countries.
I don't like America as a country but I give every single person a chance.
I am mentally disabled. I have autistic but VERY highly developed(in college to get a bachlors). My brain doesn't process certian bits of information..such as some forms of sarcasm.
It's not you dude its me.
I don't blame America for that though...its just how I was born.
Somewhere along the lines of that. A lot of autistic kids-adults give up on life. I was motivated and put a lot of effort into learning basic skills and then builing upon
I probably wouldn't be reading your post and responding to it if not for 10+ years of homeschooling.
I think a lot of the special education teachers in schools these days think we are worthless pieces of garbage. My special ed teacher sucked bad.
One of the reasons why I am going into the field of special education.
Yeah my father teaches special education at my old school, the teachers there are great, I was friends with a few of the kids, that's a good career choice man, atleast you've got motivation for it and you'll enjoy what you're doing if you're passionate about it.
I think the Us are fairly great, in comparison especially.
What pisses me of about the US is that people write stuff like that;
second or third?
How in ****ing any way?
Or for example, that thread about the german hacking police;
The US has about 3 times as invasive laws, for some 5 years now, people just don't notice.
The thing that always has me shake my head, is that people have no ****ing idea what good the US actually does for it's citizens, but goes way out into the deepest Bull to convince (whom? himself? no idea tbh) people that those things it does shitty are either not bad at all or not as bad anyways.
Short:
US is ok,
People there however are rather confused peeps, that hardly ever snap out of it.
Most are simply not capable of a global, or even a reasonable viewpoint of things and repeat about any crap they pick up as long as it serves their needs (or equally often doesn't, but that makes no difference to them either, as they won't comprehend that).
([as I have to add, sadly only,] With exceptions.)
(I'm Canadian)
Some Americans are really scary (Bush for example), others are just fine (The Wendy's girl).
I think your country is fine except:
-Little too patriotic, patriotism is like school spirit, fine in small doses.
-Less guns please.
-Bush is a horrible president who pre-pardoned himself and his bunch against war crimes (and crimes against humanity?).
-Too many bible thumpers.
-Too much attention to things that aren't actually news that you still call news (ZOMG CELEBRITY BABIES!!! Oh, and that damn dead caley chick doesn't need 8 months of daily coverage).
-Less election garbage.
I don't think anything of "you".
One thing that does bother me, that I have seen in a great amount of Americans; culturally and individually, is this general miseducation about other countries. Specifically Europe and it's generally among women.
This idea that Europe, especially England, is this cute, modern day, artistic curiosity where we all "talk funny" and live in an age of knights and elves.
You'd be forgiven for thinking I'm joking. I just hate any kind of -phile. Anglo, Japano etc.
i have to agree with oister this time.im getting tired of the "all americans are fat" stereotypes.and when getting into most arguments the other persons response is usually "get out of the house and go exercise you fat american ****"...im 5'9'' barely 140lbs...how is that fat?pretty much dont generalize us as a whole...get to know some of us before you judge<- reason im starting to believe most people from other countries are egotistical ****s.
Im American.
And to be honest, I feel like its true, 90% of the world does hate us.
And we have Bush to blame (a small part of it all) , we have the fact that a good precentage of us just doesnt care for eachother, but if you want to get technical, we all came from Europe back then (What nao?!)
That's exactly how I feel. It's silly to base an entire population on a select group of people. It's not like we all chose to live here, and we aren't all fat racist ignorant douchebags.
I mean, a lot of Americans are, especially where I live (The South), but still.
Know what I say? If you don't like it, get out.
lol i don't have anything against Americans
we are all people
Meh, me n my friends dont think americans are fat hillbillys, just ignorant ppl with little or no general knowledge of the world beyond the USA :3
I think America is a country full of opportunity.
And america is shitty because of its president. War on terror? Wtf?
ooh, I forgot about bible thumping christian fundamentalists. Hate them too, self-righteous nutjobs.
that's one of the things I always wondered with some people in the US way of living or culture, why do they keep calling themselves "america"?, it's not like the US it's the only country in the american continent, I guess it's easier instead of saying "north america(n)" everytime :pQuote:
(notice how i didnt use the term "American", the US is not America, stop calling yourself "American")
Well really US is not correct, we are the United States meaning there are many states or provinces that are connected, become one, of AMERICA, so really the US is really named America, and thus Americans. Also it was never because they thought they where better it was because it just stuck. The idea of calling us the United Statians or something sounds ugly and would never catch on anyways.
But besides that I hope that most people from outside America start to change their thoughts and perceptions on us in the next 4 years.
Yeah, America is horrible, blah, blah, blah. We're still the number one military force in the world. Known military force that is. God damn ninja penguins have us beat at the moment. :hmm:
@knight. Not as much *** as I kick in bed. ;D
Were not all dumb *** hillbillies, just the people who get on TV...
