Short answer: No
Long answer: Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Yes i do ........
I plan on passing the power of the red ranger to my son someday >_> so no.
I thought it was just a zombie invasion, I was ready for that.
Who knows.
In the future, anything could happen for all we know.
Well i sort of believe the 2012 Armageddon since nearly all of the Mayan's predictions did happen. Their prediction was based on astronomy and it is arguable that their knowledge about the stars is better than what we know. However, since it is happening in an age where we have so much knowledge and experience and technology, whatever the hell the Armageddon is, the world will deal with it and move on.
"And let the government hand out guns, for we will have to face teh invaders." - Vi3tshiiet
That'd be after my 19th birthday... Not good enough. ;P
I really wanna live for more than two decades.
the Y2K bug destroying all technology, thereby throwing humanity back into the stone age or completely wiping us out never happened, and wasn't it backed by all these scientific theories as well?
Pfft.
No I don't believe in the chances of that happening anymore than me winning the lottery.
Is Armageddon going to happen, Yes.
Do we know when it's going to happen, No.
The Mayan calender just resets on 2012. All of this stuff about about Mayans predicting Armageddon are lies. We don't know what they thought would happen, just beyond that their calender would reset in that year.
Also, I have very strong reservations that the Mayans knew more about the stars. A very unlikely claim.
You know.. if Palin were president then I would probably say yes.
Cuz we all know ol' Johnny would probably kick the bucket.
NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION.
It's just a bullshit prediction by some bullshit Mayans. The end of the world has been predicted like more than 10 times, so why should we believe now that it's going to happen in 2012?
You have no evidence to prove it except Wikipedia, and wikipedia can be edited by anyone to scare you.
Also, the History channel and all those other 'channels' are as gulliable as ever. Nothing's going to happen, and it make's believers seem like ******s.
For example:
Remember that aliens are coming on October 14/15th shit? Didn't happen.
What makes you think that the world is gonna end in 2012? Just because you heard or read something doesn't make it true. Now, enough with these threads, because now I am honestly starting to get pissed off. This has to be maybe the 20th time I've seen a thread like this, it's getting old. So quit it.
I believe in one of the 2012 horrible things as much as I believe God created the Earth.
I watched the Nostadomas(SP maybe?) thing today on history channel. One of the things they talked about was the shortage of bees in the world. Without bees pollination its hard for crops to survive. They were like unless we come up with 12 billion robot bees which we wont then crops will start to die out. If the U.S crops die out and we go into a famine then 100 countries instantly are without food. Africas population will half. Along the line of something like that. i cant remember it exatcly.
anyones thoughts?
im not gonna vote the poll bc i dont believe we will be wiped out. We are slowly killing the earth with pollution and deforestation. Only time will tell about the technological advances we get to improve the way we make and do things
I don't think it's the end of the world, per se, but instead, the end of a period in time. :-/
It took a lot of time to develop that delusion. Don't ruin it for me, asswipes. <_<
Yea it might be some low % but they still grow loads of crops. Its not just the USA though, its the world has a shortage of bees so it effects every country that grows crops. True that Africa has always had food shortage but if you cut out the USA then thats the majority of the food they already get.
I can agred with that Cereal
Lol hahaha! Not another one of theese threds!
No, 2012 is full of shit.
Yah! I'm excited for it.
I believe you should stop posting center justified, because I refuse to read that garbage.
Personally, I have a barbeque organized for that day.
If it happens, at least it ended with barbeque.
Don't encourage him Cingal.
Well if its a zombie invasion i got a plan prepared D:
Does anyone know what day it is supposed to be that we die? I don't believe in it AT ALL, but if its gonna happen I want to go out wasted lol. I'm assuming its new years night?
One theory suggests that a Magnetic Field shift will occur around this time, that the calendar was based on pole shifts, which have occurred repetitively throughout the Earths history. The Maya, understanding the time periods between these shifts created their Long count calendar around them and come up with the final date for the next pole shift. But how would they know what to look for to expect another shift? How much time was supposed to pass between these shifts and how did they know it? Was there record passed down to them from long ago recounting a time when there was a prior pole shift so that mathematics could be used to predict the next one to come? Or did the ancients study a form of dendrochronology the study of climate changes by looking at tree rings.
Others suggest a much more mythical or religious approach. December 21, 2012 is also the Winter Solstice, and provides us with a view that will not be seen again in any of our lifetimes. The Sun will conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way in the ecliptic, giving us view of the Sacred Tree as called by the Maya, giving us view of the Tree of Life. Both of these scenarios are quite possible, one scientific explanation, and one religious. What we still do not know, and probably will not know is what will happen after this end date until it actually occurs. A new dawn of enlightenment would be a step towards progression, in that mankind would become more aware of their surroundings and the impact that they have on the Earth as well as a higher intelligence and consciousness and a better mindset for helping their fellow man. Perhaps this is the end, when Mother Nature finally decides to shrug off the oppressiveness that has been created by the children and start anew. We may just end up living through another doomsday prophecy, going to work or school as usual, looking back on the prophecies and laughing them off. Peter may have cried wolf too often for our cynical minds.

Main Theory:
The end of the world?
The turn of the great cycle is conjectured to have been of great significance to the Maya, but does not necessarily mark the end of the world. According to the Popol Vuh, a sacred book of the Maya, they were living in the fourth world. The Popal Vuh describes the first three worlds that the gods failed in making and the creation of the successful fourth world were men were placed. They Maya believed that the fourth world would end in catastrophe and the fifth and final world would be created that would signal the end of mankind.
If you look how old the earth is, you can only say this is bullshit. 1: Lots of people said the earth was going to end, all didnt happen. Also, if it was to end how do they know it will happen so specifically, while the chance that the same thing could happen already could happen in the past 4.500.000.000 years...
Honestly, only time will tell. if i see meteors and shiz starting to break into the atmosphere, and everythings running wild, i'm grabbing my coat and heading to the nearest club.
if i die, i'm gonna die the happiest mofo to ever exist.
meaning, 2012 is gonna be one hell of a party year, even if it doesn't happen.
