Are Onrpg staff paid money at all lol?

I was wondering if the mods and writers of Onrpgs get a paycheck.

If so, what do you guys think it is??

100$ an hour, its serious business.. its quite obvious its not much since they have other part time jobs though

I think Sandman and the admins are (not sure, though). Regular staff are not paid.

I'd be glad to answer this question for you.. but may I ask why you want to know?

Writers get payed by article, but otherwise, most admins and all moderators do not receive compensation. They do, however, get to rule over you all.

because the mods have to put of with so much crap...logically I figured they must get paid to do it.

And power over a website doesn't seem like enough motivation for me.

What do writers get per article...guessing like 50 dollars. Lotsa money!

how doyou know no one ever reads them? you forget onrpg is a gaming site, and is for actual games. Thus, people need articles written about said games. This is just the forums.. place for us to congregate and spew random crew. That being said, the mods are just to control us, and all they get is a powertrip from doing so

Writers do get payed :). I'm not going to tell you how much.. but it's great. There aren't many active writers, but a few of us still have seniority.

Mods have fun! It isn't all work.

No one here actually reads the articles though...and when I first came to this site I never read them...but whatever.

and ya I figured gabe does since he owns the site.

Lothia is on here more then Sandman and FabainN combined...yet he doesn't get paid?

that doesnt seem fair.

Fabio_r, not Fabian xD. Fabio works at the Holland office with Spilgroup, the ones who run the site. I'm honestly surprised Lothia isn't compensated. He is a huge asset to the site.

Without the moderators the amount of stupid would build up unchecked and cause a rift into the Dungeon Dimensions to form, and the earth would be destroyed. Duh

Without the mods this site would be full of porn. It wouldn't stop there either. Hackers would probably hack the writers ads who get paid in the first place lol

Maybe gabe(ownder) does? I think he lives at home with his parents and is 25(onrpg member told me in yahoo).

Anyway, if they can afford to dish out money for articles, they can afford to pay the mods.

I REALLY don't think it's cool that Sandman gets a check for never being here but lothia pratically runs the forums and the mods and doesn't get anything for it

I meant I wouldn't want to be paid for moderating. If I was a writer, I'd definitely like being paid.

Being paid would elevate moderating to a whole new level. I'd have to be on here alot more, for one thing, and I'd be even more paranoid about making mistakes.

Lol Shard, can I say wth? First off, I'm Canadian. Secondly, I do not live on my own as I have just turned 18 a week ago. This is obviously not my full-time job. I'm using it to collect funds in order to go to university next year, as I was accepted in one of the most prestigious journalism schools in Canada. I sometimes work 20 hours a week on my part time job, and it is really paying off. Just because I don't want to throw my money away at the moderators. doesn't mean I do not appreciate them. This industry is all about talent. I don't have to be some 35 year old PHD graduate to work for the site.

Sandy might get paid a bit, myself and FabianN don't though (or at least I don't). This was a volunteer job at the beginning at least and that's how it still is for me.

I thought most people on onrpg.com were democrats? Are you yourself a republican? Would that mean that you don't support the rest of onrpg?

You stated that you worked to hard for your money to do that. However, the democrat idea is that you should take from those who have money vs those that need it.

Honestly, in my experience (which isn't that broad, I'll grant you), usually mods aren't paid for the work they do, unless they work for an established company. I don't think I'd call onRPG a company, exactly.

I appreciate the mods but not too the point that I would actually give them money. However, other onrpg members can give THIER money to the mods.
