Eh, it's understandable. If you are a huge Crusades fanatic you probably have heard of the Ottomans Empire. I think it lasted up until World War 1, can't remember.

Old empire before WW2(or maybe 1?). It was broken up into present day turkey and surrounding countries. It dosn't exist anymore, much like any of the other nations listed in the quote, showing that it is a unfunny prank on Obama.

Yes, I would suppose so. Well, that is unless you're never going to be an important person in politics. Otherwise, no.

But yeah, thats odd. I thought the ottomans were no more. (I may know what they are, but I haven't kept up :P)

NO, it is not understandable, if you are at least 15 you should know who the Ottoman Empire, they where HUGE. I think that is hilarious though.

It just means you slept during history class.

They were a freaking huge and awesome empire that was broken up by the Allies after World War 1. They also committed the huge genocide of the Armenian people around that time, which was pretty un-awesome.

But anyways now that I think about it I remember hearing briefly about them sometime, but I don't really exactly KNOW what it is, but I've heard of it.
