I had a similiar situation;

I came home from work one day and I regretfully told my wife that I had shoved my penis in the pickle slicer. She was shocked and asked, "What happened!?!" and I told her that I was fired from my job at the deli. "No, she said, what happened with the pickle slicer!?" and I replied, "Oh, she was fired too."

Nono, I never said I was paying for his college fees. Although I have supported him a few times when he has had absolutely no money what-so-ever which makes him very embarrased that he has to borrow from me sometimes.

It's not even a matter of how much money I have, I have plenty right now, I've just been saving for college. It's just the fact that I lost my job which to him is the end of the world.

It depends what kind of job it is. most places won't take you unless you have some job experience, and even then its rare to find one if you have no prior experience in the field.

like waiting on tables. its difficult to get a job doing that if you have no prior experience.. at all.

try washing dishes >>

This is true for the most part. It will be hard for you to get job if you have no experience. Unless you find a job that has on the job training. Besides at your age it's ok to have low paying job till you can get your career started. If I were you I'd try to find a job that pays a decent amount. Because you can't get very far with a high school diploma. You may even have to get more than one job.

So in a time when people are losing their job and struggling to live... you get fired because you didn't feel like going to work.

The word selfish comes to mind. Sometime you have to bite your lip and take it if only to get to your ultimate goal. I hope whoever gets your job has more respect for actually having a job.

In any case stop pussyfooting around it and just tell him. Stop wasting your time talking to people on a forum and actually do something!

I'm guessing he'll be more upset once he drops out and then realizes what a selfless moron he is. Then he will be crying to you, and eventually you will break up. I hope this doesn't happen to you. To be honest, I really didn't realize how bad it was. I actually had two backup jobs that I was soon to apply to, and what do you know, my friend who works at one just told me they're starting layoffs and the other one ****ed me over and won't accept me now.

I know I put myself in a stupid spot. This job was actually the first job I ever had and I worked it full time for the first year before it got very physically straining and more than I could handle since we were under-staffed. The turnover rate has always been ridiculous, literally 90%+ employees would quit within 1-2 months of being hired because it's such a bad job. I've seen a crazy number of people in and out in the time I've been there.

I also just sent him an IM with all my thoughts written that he'll read in the morning. I'm doing my best to give a shit, but sometimes that's a lot harder than it sounds as I'm sure a lot of people here would know what I mean. I'm making it my goal to go to college in August no matter what for something I know nothing about (airplane mechanic) and that I don't even know if I'll be able to build any interest into.

well sorry for my english, over here, "significant other" can mean either a female or male. Guess over at your side it refers to homosexual partners.
