Welcome to the club.
it's based on demand.
hell if atlantica was REALLY successful there'd be more turn based mmo's for sure.
Now that I just learned there is a fallout multiplayer coming out from your sig I cant wait for that to come out!
Welcome to the 'We're tired of generic asian grinders' club.
Worse is that fact that everyone on this forum hypes each and every one of them.
There's hype because we're excited it might be good.
Aion and ether saga are the ones i'm looking forward to being released into Open beta.
Generic? Possibly, but hey it's still a new game and something to try out.
The only way MMORPGs are gonna move away from the slump they are in is if WoW's player base drop's too the low hundred thousands. The problem with MMORPGs getting that popular is that developers start thinking that's what everyone likes.
Start writing up game design documents <_<'
I agree both American and Korean games need a boot to the head. They all feel the same. Most American games pretty much follow WOW which is a fun game but is getting tired. While most Korean games bore you to death with killer grind. It's all about finding a game you can enjoy.
They are slowly heading into ONE direction if you look at it... FPS + RTS + MMO.
I guess companies affraid to try out new things. They rather take a safe route and earn average money than take a new route and either ended up bankrupt or really successfull.
Don't really make sense now making unusual of "different" mmorpgs from the business point of view =/
I played it enough to know I wouldn't like it, and for me that's all that really matters. Plus we all know WoW isn't original.
Regardless of my personal feelings toward WoW, FFXI or MS it doesn't change the fact that the games are popular yet getting old and it's time for something new. I like MS probably as much as you like FFXI and yet I would never try to say that just because the game is popular, it's been going strong for years, and it's decent at higher levels (which happen to be some of the very same points you make when you speak about FFXI) that it does not have it's flaws nor are there any games out there that improve on them or can, should or will.
Well I am hoping that Mabinogi: Heroes will be something new and fun to play.
Judging from the trailers it seems like a breathe of fresh air.
I will play it as soon as the CB starts in Korea Nexon.
Well if you want someething different you could look up the dog sleding mmo that Nexon is bringing out.
Or go with fantasy tennis.
You see it's hard for people to make a good mmorpg when no one explains what new things they would like to see.
Developers are just taking the safe route by changing very little.
If you want an mmorpg that has something different wait until Mabinogi: Heroes, Blade and Soul, Continent of the 9th or Rusty Hearts comes out.
once again, never said the entire game was, just my experiences 1-15 boring = I quit. Like it or not, disagree or don't that isn't changing.
MS P servers are pure crap. I've played a bunch of them and found them far more boring than the official servers and I was a higher level in them than I am on GMS.
And you did the same thing I did just with MS! You played official rates for a lil while, found it boring and quit (and I don't fault you for that). I did the same thing with FFXI yet that is just so wrong because of the same reason? Why?
I played multiple characters over 50 or close to it (highest was 78) So I have far more experience playing the game in the official servers than you do. So is it fair for me to you labeling your GMS time as boring bunk because I was able to play the game longer and found it to be fun at higher levels? No, you found the game boring because it did not appeal to you and that is an understandable opinion.
Are you qualified to write a pro review on official MS servers with the limited experience you have with it? No, and the same could be said about me doing one on FFXI. That does not mean either one of us cannot truthfully say that either game really could be better based on what we've played so far. They could have made the beginnings just a tad bit more interesting which is why in the next gen MMORPG's I hope they fix that.
Yes we need some more damn originality in MMO's and new concepts because I love 2D Sidescrollers but they are even getting dull to me. For example Tenvi did do a good job at improving on the flaws that most 2D sidescrollers have but it ain't perfect nor is there really anything "new" about the game. But it's a step in the right direction.
If you can find flaws in a game you like and so can I (because MS is full of them) and we can both agree on the same flaw on the same game (FFXI/MS beginnings are a bit slow, the game gets better over time) why the eff are we always arguing over the same point lol?
alot of people are afraid to try something new, just becasue of how much money it takes to make and keep an mmo operating. So alot of people try to stick with the same old same old, that they know everyone likes. When they stray from the traditional path, it's always wither and EPIC WIN or an...
