Way too over rated for my taste. No matter how good the fighting is, I can't watch a movie if there's no plot. :/
Hmh..bah, I used to watch Jackie Chan movies as a child but that was a long time ago.
Don't like any of his recent movies.
Pfffft. Plot is just an excuse for fighting.Quote:

It's pretty straight forward, Enter the Dragon. Black guy dies. Evil asian man is evil in every way possible. Bruce Lee kicks ***. End of story.
Bruce Lee of course. He's a beast.
Those cats were as fast as lightning! HA~
and yeah Bruce lee owns them all.
By the way you seriously should not be hating on asian black people. If you have never seen Afro samurai, well holy crap. An example of the Blasian fury:

Bruce Lee for sure. XD
Martial arts movies as in wushu movies, or just martial arts movies in general?
My favourite ones, or at least the ones that top my list for now, are as follows:
Chocolate - A thai movie made by the ones who made ong bak. Awesome movie, combines a lot of styles, but mainly muay thai.
Fighter in the wind - Although quite historically inaccurate, following the life of Masutatsu Oyama, the creator of kyokushin karate.
Zatoichi(the latest one starting Takeshi Kitano) - This film is great in more way than one. Has some excellent sword fights.
I also greatly enjoyed Crouching Tiger, Hiden Dragon, and Hero, but I guess most people have seen these, so nothing new there.
As for favourite martial arts actors, I don't really have any. Actors are actors, and as long as they are in good shape, and can pull of the choreography without it looking completely stupid, I don't care much beyond that.
Hero was too much of everything else than martial arts. not saying i didnt enjoy it.. great movie
Jackie Chan= Best actor in movies
Bruce Lee= best technician/artician in movies.
They are completely different.
IMO!
Chuck Norris even though he got beaten by Bruce Lee.
Chocolate was awesome, yeah. Definitely looking forward to more movies of Yanin Vismitananda.
As for the other two, I haven't seen them. Zatoichi has been on my list for some time now but I haven't had the opportunity to watch it, yet.
I've looked up Fighter In The Wind and I must say it looks interesting.
It goes more into the realistic direction, huh?
Hero's my all-time favourite. For various reasons:
1. Jet Li and Donnie Yen fight each other - in their minds. Now how awesome is that?!
2. The plot's fantastic.
3. Good acting and action scenes.
4. The whole movie's eye-candy.

I agree on the actor part but regardless of that I have my favourites because they've accomplished a lot and made a lot of movies I enjoyed.
Chuck Norris. His hairy chest was fast as lightning.
If you end up liking Zatoichi, then I suggest you try watching Gohatto(AKA Taboo) as well, also an excellent film with some real good japanese swordsmanship, although a bit slower paced and a bit more realistic than Zatoichi.
And if you liked Hero, The restless, a korean movie might appeal to you. It's more fairytale-ish, and although there are some poor CGI at times, the movie is quite beautifull and kinda touching in a cheesy way.
The Warlords from 2007 with Jet Lee is also really awesome. I have a feeling this movie has been a bit overlooked in the west in comparison to a lot of other Jet lee movies.
As for fighter in the wind, it has a slight realistic approach, but some points are clearly exaggerated(it is quite truthfull in it's stylistic presentation of Kyokushin Karate though, as the main character was forced to actually practise that style in specific prior to filming the movie).
If you like it, I'd also recommend you watch Kuro-Obi AKA Black Belt as well. It is probably the most "realistic" karate movie you get, given that the three main actors are actually high ranking Karate Black belts, and they are the ones responsible for the choreography of the movie.
Another realistic martial arts movie is Red Belt which is actually an American production about a guy practising brazilian Jujutsu.
Will check those movies out. Especially The Restless :p. I like cheese. Om nom nom nom.
Oh and The Curse of The Golden Flower is also a must-see, if you liked Hero.
The Warlords was a good movie I found it rather disappointing, though.
No, it wasn't bad but I was expecting more of it. I enjoyed Fearless more.
I suggest watching The Three Kingdoms if you like historical (inaccurate and exaggerated) movies. Not as good as The Warlords but still an o.k. movie for a Sunday afternoon.
The curse of the golden flower was good. I didn't really like fearless though because it gave me a distinct feeling of chinese propaganda and because it made jet lee come off as a bit big-headed, in the sense that he is the only guy with gravity defying powers(like when he fights atop the wooden tower thingy) and everybody else just sucks :P
Oh and if you end up liking The Restless, you should also try Shadowless Sword(another korean movie). But now I'm truly out of good recommendations. Anyways, hope you have some good stuff to watch from now ;)
Rush Hour 1-3.

Yeah, Kung Fu Fighting?
Try watching the following:
Fighter in The Wind
Shaolin Girl
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Once Upon a Time in China
Rush Hour
The Drunken Master
Those are my few suggestions...:DXD:p

Yeah, I know. Most action movies do have that element. I was just expecting more from a jet li movie. I mean, in Fighter in the wind, the main character also beats up everybody, but he still has to follow the same rules of gravity as everyone else :P
Yeah, I saw Ip Man a while ago. I liked the fighting to a certain degree(except I'm not much of a fan of wing chun to begin with), but I agree, the script was really strange(and also smelled a bit of propaganda).
Oh, I know, another martial arts film is comming soon that I'm looking forward to - High kick girl:
That's because that's clips of the raw footage. I don't know why, but there are no good trailers of this movie yet. The reason I'm looking forward to it, is because the fights, and the way the fights where made. "Real time" choreography always owns.
They're making an Ip man 2? God, not only do they make a sequal, they make a sequal of a movie that wasn't very good in the first place. Haha, but maybe we'll be lucky and it turns out great.
The Expendables, I hadn't heard of it so I guess this is now on my to-watch list.
This isn't exactly a martial arts movie as much as it is an "all out brawl/beat em up" movie, but excellent all the same:
Crows Zero:
2nd movie to be released the 11th next month:
Kung Pow.
Nah, I'm not really into those types of movies. Maybe once in a while, but not a genre that I'm interested in.
