I remember when my school first got new computers they were 1988 macs. I played oregon trail on it whenever I could.
Kids today are so lucky with their awesome technology.

you are trying to reach the kids with education, so what better way to do it than a mass media device that they already own and associate with fun.
plus kids are stupid so at first they wont realise that they are doing schoolwork on their DS. by the time the novelty wears off and they realise theyve just read a whole bunch of charles dickens itll be too late. plus they wont lose their DS like they might lose/damage schoolbooks because something of value to them. very smart.
