Thats a good question. I know graphics dont make the game, but I personaly cant stand doing text games.
You don't really get a sense of grinding in txt-based and the quests are "deeper" as in more involved, you dont just go kill 10 monsters you are already grinding through. It's more like a mystery or some crap like that. That's the other thing that makes txt-based pretty fun. If you have an imagination it's easy to like them because 3d or even 2d games are usually button mashing grindfest. Txt based games are like interactive stories heh I still prefer visual games because I suck at reading I usually read a line like 4 times before i noticed i'm repeating lol
