Growing a lot? Due to what? Don't pull facts out of your ***.
A few months ago I logged in for shits and giggles and Factions was empty. Couldn't even get a group together to do hard mode quests.

thats where you went wrong
sorry dipshit, look at my xfire... do you need some screenies with that? Factions has the MOST players.. your probably a useless tool in the game so noone picks you up for a party but I always got into one fine, charlie
and its called GUILD wars for a reason
oh okay, on the top left corner, theres a tab where you can move to district 1. next time ask for help charlie
and also... whats this growing number of gw players in onrpg alone charlie?
oh yes, because everyone with gw has to have xfire
stop flaming this topic now ffs. Guild wars may have lost players but there are also a lot left..
Well hmm, let's see, the minutes played for Guild Wars has fallen several spots.
So you're proposing that nobody new who is getting the game has an xfire. OK, very unlikely, but still, let's take that into consideration.
The game has still fallen many places in the top 10, meaning that even if what you're saying is true, they still have a lot less players than in the past. (Unless, for some reason, these players all stopped using xfire.)
And what you're saying is highly unlikely.
P.S. I district surf all the time.
P.P.S. I'm not saying GW is a bad game. In fact, if my past experience with it being so empty hadn't existed, I'd be buying the rest of the series right now. It's no knock against the game. Every game loses players eventually; but that doesn't take anything away from it being one of the most innovative and successful RPG franchises on the market.
I just felt your claims of the game "growing a lot" were rather ludicrous.
How about this charlie, we ask the onrpgers playing right now about the average population?
i dont care about no bullshit xfire stats.. ALOT of people stopped playing counter strike after CAL died (yes you can bet you ***, ask any cs players on onrpg)
yet its still in the top... explain that too :]
and new games hyped took over the top list right now.. they will die out
For the love of mmo can we please just get a lock on this thread
F.Y.I. im online right now and alot of ppl are playing..and its only 6:52AM (here atlease)
now,lockity lock lock pl0x
Nobody is begging for parties anymore it is because of the heroes they have. Majority of the players are just afk in the major cities trading or pvping. And that is a lie how every outpost has dozens of players only a handful have dozens the rest are either a ghost town especially mission outpost were there is 3-5 people.
Please show me where you got this information of gw2 releasing 3 years from now.
GW is a dying breed. However, whoever says GW sucks is a moron.
Not a lot quit, sorry.
You said to ask any CS players, well, here I am.
The competitive community is pretty much the same. Some teams play a little less, but no one "stopped" playing because of CAL dieing.
They may play less, some less may play at all (but not because of CAL). There's still a ton of other leagues, not to mention the hundreds of LANs across the country.
Sorry, hate to say you're completely wrong.
Hi Vexi :)
I'm a noob too, Lvl 13 D/W. Add me on xfire :) Or my IGN (Herro Duck)
Also, there's nothing wrong with saying GW is dying. Of course aging games are going to lose players.
Wow... I've played guildwars from when it first came out to now... I don't really see much difference... there IS probably a bit less people doing missions, but PvP is just FULL of people...
Meh, Guild Wars in my opinion is loosing a small amount; it's more like an on and off game anyways.
PS. Character name is Sir Izyman
Off topic:
Yup, GW is losing players. But the rate of loss is nothing to fret over.
There are plenty of people on, and it's not hard to get into a party if you actually ask. The current number of players does not indicate the game is dead or dying.
On Topic:
I started a new warrior on prophecies.
IGN: Swordmaster Monkey (W6).
Draining pre-searing for all its worth.
I'll have to go to work in about 10 minutes so maybe I'll party up with people later.
IGN: Nia Nibelung
Dervish
I'm in nightfall, but i got them all. (prophecy, factions, nightfall, eye of the north)
People leaving?
nonsense
Maybe it just seems like that
because 1. Theres a lot of people doing pvp
2. no ones in factions or prophercies because they are playing GW:EN
I mean eye of the north is seriously crowded
I think factions is the least played :/
I have all the expansions soo
I'm looking for people to play factions with me
I only have three characters
one for each campaign
Not very far in factions
Factions: Thurandul Ark (ranger) Lvl 10
Prophercies: Aranarth Zetsubou (Elementalist) Lvl 16 (i called him that cause I think hes depressing)
NightFall : Roran Ra Zac (Warrior) Lvl 20 (My first character)
Feel free to add me, If anyone wants to do factions with me tells me, I'm not very far so I can start again in it.....
Its very easy to hit lvl 10
If you need any help with missions or anything feel free to give me a pm ingame.
IGN: Spike Treasoner lvl 20 W/M ( i'm not a Wammo either)
Usually if i'm not on that guy im busy but still drop me a pm if you need help.
Edit: Have all three campaigns.
No right? thats a stupid thing to say.
That like telling someone on WoW
"Oh your not level 80, you don't get to share an oppinion"
I've been playing for three years, How do I not have a right?
:/ Even if I was only playing for one year I still get to express an oppinion
Yeah guilds disband, I did't say "Everyone still playing!"
That would be stupid
I was just saying That there are still a lot of people playing
I stoped playing at christmas, and started up again now, because I wanted
to finsish the GW:EN campaign
Only on lvl 20 character, soo? I could make 4 lvl 20 pvp characters right now
Or, I could get dragged through the campiagns for money to lvl 20
I don't see how that would make my oppinion any more valid
Just cause I focus on one character does not mean I don't have a "right"
Also, yeah a lot of GW players now, are unsocial idiots
that don't like new people
"That don't have more then one lvl 20 character" :P
JK
but still that turns off new players, my friend quit playing cause in missions,
nobody would say anything, :/
so now hes a lvl 80 hunter in WoW...
The Guild thing .... I would not notice, I did't keep up with guild rankings.
Of course your right, my old guild is gone T^T
Had to find a new one.
But your right about the GW2, I'm playing GW:EN now, cause I was told there would be a reward in GW2 for fillnig the hall,
So I'm waiting and looking for a new mmo to play >o> <o<
"no right" T^T Low Blow there
Who cares? Every game loses players, please stop posting about it.
Definitely lost some people. Mission outposts especially aren't as crowded as they once were, you'll have to try alternate methods of finding parties apart from PUGging. I won't say it's completely deserted though, most people have GW installed but don't play it regularly (biased comment, i'm doing it).
Still, it's not all deserted, it's a fun game, and making and trying out new builds is always fun. I have to say that it's a worthwhile game to play, despite talks about GW2, and the slowly declining population.
Ok since we're already way off topic in this thread,I have a question.
Do they sell the expansions at local stores or only online,is there a price difference?
And,out of the expansion packs, which one would be the best to get? Factions seems cool with the whole assassin thing..
Everytime I log in, everything is extremely packed.. or maybe I just didn't get to see when it was considered full , but it's more packed now than during prophecies (at least what I've went through so far).
Community is way different now as well. Contains a bunch of morons that can't spell anything outside the boundaries of TXT TLK, and noone is as helpful and "get things done" like they used to. I remember people just randomly asking people to go on missions, the population in a town/outpost was constantly changing, etc. Now you just go in and people are like LOL I HAS HEROES!
Who cares? Guild Wars isn't even that good. It had good features, but when nothing binds, you get to the max level cap in 2 days, and you can only use 8 out of your 300+ skills at a time, what is the point. The PvP in my opinion wasn't very good anyway.
t'is a little thing called tactics my friend. GW wasn't designed around grind, but collectability and planning.
As the developers have said, think about it in terms of a card game. You collect your skills, and then build your "deck" with a limited number.
Obviously GW wasn't for you. But IMO, its a great game.
I understand but why 8? It was so hard to set up an assassin, considering they used combos and shit. Ran out of room. Probably the reason trading card games suck....Plus GW got really boring, really fast. YOu got to 20 and the only thing left to do was get money, skill points(cough), and PvP. And like I said, the PvP was mediocre at best.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/29570/
u can get all 3 for 40 bucks
Im downloading this game, it looked cool i hope it is my ign is going to be sephiroth895 or lway
YOu can't have numbers in your name I don't think, plus it has to be two words.
not to burst youre bubbles.. but GW is pretty slick on getting their moneys worth..
each campaign has different skills to offer.. and most of todays top line builds require AT LEAST trilogy set to get into the pvp arena. you will find this out when u try to pvp and find out all the kids your class will be knocking you down and other neat skills while you cant do any good combos n such
sooooo..... 30 + 30 + 30 = 90 OR 40 trilogy?
even trilogy is not enough now.. you cant have perfect farm/pvp builds
anyway ign is phillip deez nuts if anyone also wants to join a nice pvp kurz ventrilo using guild. dont really play much anymore
