The AoC grind is pretty bad... You'll get to the point where you're spending hours in the same villas trying to grind out a game, in your 50s. And if its still the same waaay later on, you'll be grinding alot to reach level 80.
Lotro from what I can tell already, has enough content to get you to cap without grinding.
Either way, both have a trial... Try'em out.
I thought AoC was heavily PvP based to the point you could create a city/town.
Even if you would grind in Lotro you get titles for it, but GL with Lotro the End-game is good in it, but remember when ye reach 50 to buy MoM (Mines of Moria) that's a really well done expansion
I see you already got LoTRO, which I own and is a great game but wanted to address your questions, AoC population is booming, you will actually run into more people on AoC then you will in LoTRo, not putting LoTRo down or anything, this is partly cause LoTRo is a much larger world.
Now as far as grind, that guy talking about hours of grinding in villas at 50, must be really bad at the game, my wife went to San Antonio for business one weekend, so I started a new toon. She came home 3 days later, the new toon I had made 3 days prior was lvl 49, I have 4 80's you can hit 80 in 3 weeks if you play enough, once you get to around 60 you can level 1-2 times in an hour and thirty minutes. LoTRo the grind sets in around 35 and can get very upsetting at times, and getting groups for stuff in LoTRo seems to be more difficult.
