To answer your question, no i dont think it is Kenpachi's zankpakto(h/e u spell it), they wouldn't reveal something that important in a filler arc lol, atleast i don't think O.o(not gonna make any claims).

Also this does actually look interesting.

Maybe there going for transformations or alternate art?

Well kubo did make up the story and the art for the filler arc.

Looks better then the rubbish fillers we've had for the past 2-3weeks lol.
