Its good you used Darkfall as an example for poor application of the non-targeting combat system. Now wont you talk about the ones that applied it with success? DDO & AOC

Let's face the truth, all MMOs are just cheap rip offs of WoW, the grandfather of all online gaming. ;/
Every game, and I mean every game was a rip off from pong! Pong was the first game ever made, so people had to base it off pong. Enough save /thread.
I guess you can say BOD to DFO. I haven't played DFO but yeah I've screenshots of both. BOD really rip-off DFO in alot of ways.
wow, a entire thread dedicated to seeing what game copied what game.
as if we don't do this enough already
XD the shock of RoM still wears heavy on me as the biggest
SoS Ripped from Ragnarok
RoM ripped form WoW
Only 2 that come to mind.
perfect world seems like a rip off of WoW
i just don't get why this company made another clone of their own game
(PW and jade dynasty) why not combine it to make it bigger
It's actually a great way of making money for them.
They do two games that look very different from one another, but plays exactly the same and even has very similar maps, that means they skip very big parts of development and can complete their project faster. Some people don't like fluffy cute graphics so they opt for a more colorless/realistic looking game, they know this and to minimize money cost they simply carbon copy their games and change the overall look.
Minimizing development costs but improving revenue overall. :)
As a customer/consumer I dislike it, but it works for them. It happens with everything. It's stupid, but most fall for it because it looks different, myself included. ^^
Well I say everyone copied from the cave men. I mean what game doesn't have fire? XD
A lot of games came out before WoW. Ultima, Everquest, FFXI, and sure there are some I don't know that were good mmo's.
Oh I played all of the oldies but goodies. The old school MUD's, the old school stuff like UO and Meridian 59 (1996, a year before UO) and the first graphical MMO Air Warrior (1986!) Then there was the original Neverwinter Nights on AOL in 1991.
God I feel so old.
Good because you sound old :p. I mean I was born in 1991.
