PS3 Drops 80 GIG to $299 gamestop.com

wow r u serious i just bought my ps3 2 weeks ago for $400.>:(
You did, lol. So I take it that you didn't bother searching? Saying that is the literal equivalent of saying "If I break the rules, just shut up and let me do it anyways." Not cool, bro.
Bahahaha! ;B Humorous! For me, that is.
wow unlucky you are that like ps3 with two games now hehe =$400
lol then two months later ps3 slim just came out nowhere lolXD
Holy shit! Ps3 price drop? Was anyone else aware?
I was, I figure the PS3 Slim means lower prices for current systems, and to continue to earn money, gamestop had to lower prices to continue to get people buying or they will have like 100s of old PS3 no one would want. Also, the old 80Gb is now $300 too, used of course. And the 20GB is now $280. PS2 compatibility for all!
Did any of y'all even watch the Sony Press Release?!?!
All of the 80GB PS3's got price dropped to $299. . . everywhere. The 160 GB is $399. $280 for a 20 GB??? Here at Fry's, we've, been selling 40 GB's for $270.
Also, Sony discontinued the PS# originals weeks ago, hell, my store finally ran out of stock today.
Also, Gamestop is a horrible store, horribly ripping you off. My store sells everything they have for much cheaper, sometime even the price of used games.
edit: Saint was being sarcastic. This thread needs to be locked as there already is another thread.

Go to the store you purchased it at. Some stores have "low price guarantee" policies, where if they drop the price in 30 days (length of return policy) they will give you the new lower price. Not everywhere (cough GameStop cough) though.
Do you even understand why the 20GB is still so much? Because it has BACKWARD compatibility! Does the 40GB have that no, why else is it lower? I bet you're thinking, well you can get the PS2, well for one, you won't pay for two systems plugged, two, it takes up less space and three, it cost less.
Yeah, I realized that after I posted. Sometime I speak before thinking . . . very bad habit.
But still, it seems like everyon thinks GameStop has this special deal going on that no other store is doing. It irks me to think that GameStop has that much influence on people.
Personally I prefer Fry's WAY, WAY,WAY over GameStop, it just that Fry's tries to keep it on current stuff, like after they got rid of the 60GB, like a month later, my brother decides to go to see if the closest Fry's have it, since Gamestop was still selling it for $500+ used, and it didn't. Anyway..I hate GameStop unless I'm going to get a console or console game. I HATE their PC selection. It's like CoD series, WoW, Guild Wars, and a bunch of crappy games. Fry's is like 4 few meters sections for games.
Isn't Frys a grocery market? Because I looked at mines and thats all the have lol.. thats where my dad gets all the fruits n stuff :O! (I live in Arizona)
So not in AZ? Barnicles!!!! lawl.. oh well, GameStop it is :O!
Kind of want to get a PS3 slim.
But I'm just far, far too cheap for now.
Soddin' hell...Quote:

Actually, my store is two whole dedicated isles to PCGames, the same size as the PS3 and Xbox360 sections combined. Hell, add in the Wii section, it's larger than your average Gamestop.
Fry's Electronics is a private company owned and operated, to this day, by the Fry's brothers. There are about 40 stores located around the U.S. with an online store, formerly known as Outpost.com.
The state with the largest number of store is California, as that was the state it first started in. You can find them in some of the most technological cities in the U.S., considering our massive supply of transistors, computer parts, home theater installation kit, and not to mention large selection of TVs, movies, games, computer, and what name you. You can walk in here and leave with all the parts you need to build any kind of electrical device.
On a side note, I'm not supposed to tell anyone this, but Fry's has an excellent contract with Nintendo and other suppliers. Even though we get our stock late, we usually get the most. While everyone was sold out of Wii Fits last January, we were the only store that had a giant stack that got replace weekly.
The only ppl reason why ppl complain about that is because a few years from now, they are gonna wanna play the PS2 classics, and rejoice about the great memories they had on the PS2
I'll get it whenever my 360 gets RRoD. :p
I'm playin' FFX on my PS2, no need for backwards compatibility. :)
No backwards compatibility means I'm sticking with the PS2. Not to mention there just aren't enough games I'm into on the PS3 right now for me to buy it. I'm just gonna to see what other games come out.
They have such a killer line up coming right now... Uncharted 2, Demon's Soul, MAG. Those games gunna be bomb! xD
