This really sucks. The game has one resolution and its like 640 x 480 or something. WTF this is 2009, nobody has that size monitor anymore. If I run it full screen it looks like complete poo, and in windowed mode its like a spec on my desktop. That completely ruins the game for me, and I have been looking forward to this game for a long time. Why would the company release the game with ONLY a resolution from like the 1700s. Really annoys me =(

I hear this crap all the time when people try games like D2 for the first time in the past couple years they are expecting some super high end graphics or something and fail to realize how old the game is and that it's the gameplay and free online play that made the game so great for it's time.

I love it cause its sorta nostalgia.

The problem is the resolution. In windowed mode because of the terrible resolution its very small on my monitor. Diablo 2 had more resolution options and that game is older than this.
That is a very very small resolution, and for us gamers with widescreen monitors it is, as Cingal said, a complete eyesore.
So spare me the "omg it looks like old stuff" garbage, I used to play those games too. Remember how they used to fit to your TV screen? Well imagine instead you had to either play it in a little box on your tv screen, or have it stretched out so that the game looks wierd.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the graphics of the game, again, and everything to do with the resolution. If you have a terrible old monitor then it probably looks fine to you.

I think you missed the point. Just because it's popular (an mmo, or music, or games etc), not everyone is going to like it but it has the potential to be MORE popular with a few tweaks.Quote:

Love the game so far, just what I expected. Playing on a wide screen just fine. But then again I'm too busy playing the game to notice anything like ZOMG PIXEL ARE BIG OH NOES. I don't really understand what people are trying to say. I don't see a majority of games supporting wide screens to begin with. Wide screens are not meant for gaming just yet... As I said, maintain aspect ratio. Also since you are talking about comparing it to your tv, why not just connect your card to your tv and play it on there? Unless that is wide screen as well. But guess what, TVs just like your graphics card do support mai... Well, I already said it enough...

My monitor automatically has scan lines for 640 x 480 resolution. It looks weird at first but you get used to it. Gives it that old TV feel.

The hell are you guys talking about when you say games aren't meant for widescreens. Nearly every flatscreen monitor and laptop out there is widescreen.

Solves all your problems, except the one where you want to play it fullscreen.
And that means they support games? Just because you have the shell of a lambo attached to a little red wagon does not mean you are going to get that thing up to 100mph let alone 10... Every major gamer here knows that almost no games support wide screen. Most 3d games even tho they do not support it still work just fine with only the ui stretched. Wide screen is pretty new for games. Not like EVERYONE who has made a game is suddenly going to release a patch or update so that it supports the new format. I know that any of the games that I play older than a few years still do not support such resolutions even tho they still can work. Out of the hundreds of games I have tried or bought, only a handful properly fit with my wide screen. But again most of the time the only thing that gets "stretched" is the ui. But then there are some games that the entire image stretches such as Combat Arms for example.Quote:
