Yeah, what Bacn said.
That was pretty funny, I chuckled.
That video pissed me off.
Well, I will look up a proper definition I read in a book, on how this might be comical to some;
Found it and so it goes:
I find it pretty well explained.Quote:
Here the feeling of stimulated displeasure is counterweighted by the feeling of enjoyment of the own self being spared, through an image of "superiority"
When ethical ideas get violated, the flattered feeling of pride competes with moral ugliness, un-virtuousness, untruth and so on and creates, when a disharmony with practical and logical ideas exists, laughter.
In all this cases the feeling of injury must also be able to hold a balance with higher standing norms, if the comical contrast should manifest, and so it is easy to see, that emotional conflicts mainly create laughter with people who only posses ethical and aesthetic ideas in underdeveloped form, whose image of themselves however is unnaturally developed. This is the case with savage, uneducated persons and children, whose ethical ideas have not been developed.
Me too.
I bet no one would think it was funny if a Muslim said **** everyone that died on 9/11 if it was said on 9/11 Day. So why should this shit is funny? -_-
The soldier is repeatedly says, **** Allah, which basically means **** God. He's just insulting both sides (Christians and Muslims)... I bet he's the reason soldiers get kidnapped and tortured... Dumb bastard >_>
I don't know.
I kinda chuckle when people tell jokes about 9/11 or post funny pictures about it.
Would be hypocrisy if I said this was awful, etc.
It's not personal. But it's damn right degrading. Muslims not only have to put up with soldiers occupying their country everyday, but have this bloke wave a mic around spewing crap about their religion, something very sacred and important to them.Quote:
its funny until it gets personal...and its not personal yet so its still funny.
In every culture we have tolerance levels and borders where we deem a joke either funny or unfit. Muslims don't have a high tolerance level with religion, while Americans do. But of course every person has the right to chuckle at a joke, whether it is personal or not. I just hope people don't blatantly point and laugh without realizing what they are doing.
Edit: I'm a Christian, but I don't attend church. Not because I'm lazy, but because I don't have respect for a man who stays in one spot and expects everyone to support his needs. No offense to anyone who is a Christian, but I have alot of respect for missionaries who actually give up their time and lives.
doesnt mean i dont have faith in God and Jesus...i know faith has no "earthly" evidence to it... and Christians are dumbasses, period(most of em atleast). doesn't mean im not of the Christian faith.
was i there? i dont even remember that.
lol, anyways! All points aside.. I guess some find the video funny while others find it offensive. Everyone has their own opinion whether it be religion or view.
*Puts gun back in holster*
Damn, this was going to be OnRpg first flame thread in years.
crisis averted!
Like... Do we keep on going...? -_- Or is this thread dead...?
