So i just got my Dental braces a day ago, (Brackets) And it FKING hurts, i guess its normal but what can i do to make my mouth used to them? Like eat something specific, and does anyone know a few things i ''cant'' eat cause of em,? since i couldnt find anything on google =l
There's really nothing extra that you can/should do
It's going to hurt for like the first week or two no matter what, unfortunately.

Your teeth are just very sensitive right now.
But things that will really hurt; anything tough/hard.
I believe I went with cereal/oatmeal/yogurt/noodles/rice.
Advil might also help somewhat. :p

Because pretzels are ****ing awesome. I hate chips and cheese puffs and most candy, but I like pretzels. Its like my only snack food option. D:Quote:

I've only broke 2 brakets in the 10 months I've had them.
I bent my wire once though. It was a sharp V in between 2 brackets. Oh god that hurt all night till it popped back.
I had braces before but it does help your teeth get better.

i used it on my teeth like no other
but it makes your tongue numb also :/
& then once you mouth is numb the hurting stops (few minutes)
and then eat what you wish.
the spacers are what hurts the worst :/
Get used to smoothies for the next few weeks. thats really all you can do.
When i first got braces a few months ago i was like WUT?
Uhhhh heres some things i did
First few weeks, i usually ate mostly eggs and stuff that are very soft.
Thing was i broke one of my brackets the first day cause i didnt wait long enough for the glue to dry and i ate something xD.
Other then that it really isnt hard to keep them in good condition. Do not ever EVER eat apples they will f'k up ur brackets.
The flossing, i never did it and my teeth became straight after 3 months oddly anyways.
Brush at least twice a day if ur too lazy to do it after u eat. Make sure u get the part under and over the brackets near the gums MAKE FRIKIN SURE.
I still chew'ed gum once in a while and i still eat chips. Although those chips are usually Lays so they arnt rly that hard. Pretzels are fine as long as they are small.
In the beginning ur probably gonna be paranoid about biting into stuff like sandwiches (are fine to eat as long as they're not toasted). But its perfectly fine to do this.
Bite with ur back teeth, almost NEVER ur front unless its something like a soft pizza.

I had braces from 5th grade until 9th grade (I know...5 years)
It sucks, lol. But better sooner than later.
Ive had them for a year and a half now. Pain in the *** at first, but after a month or so your back to normal. Tightenings only hurt for a few hours after the procedure. If you have to get rubber bands, WEAR THEM. It will only prolong the process and make it more painful.
