y it would be cool , there are no fpses where marines hold off their ground vs oncoming aliens (instead of russkies)

It is a video game... not a war simulator.

Play hardcore and the normal armour is realistic.

But, you've named two things that are futuristic, out of countless other technologies the game has.

It is a futuristic game though... it's based a couple years in the future.
