I always used to be into collecting rocks as a kid. IDK why, but I always liked crystals and that type of thing. Prolly because I was an only child and I had time for lame things like that XD I still have a rock collection, and pick up some stuff to add to it sometimes.
By far, my favorite has always been the bismuth crystal.

It doesn't really happen in nature. They are made synthetically, by a really simple process. tl;dr, metal is heated up to its melting point, and let cool slowly. Since it expands as it slows, it makes these cool shapes.
Luckily, everything I need is readily available to me. I'm totally gonna make some of these :3
Anyway, to make this thread more than me telling you guys about that, if you guys ever had a rock collection, whats your favorite type of crystal/gem?
