I'm a gamer, but I don't freak out over things like that. Your friends take things too seriously.
The 3 worst communities I've seen in retail fps games are Halo, MW and L4D series so this stuff doesn't surprise me but when friends start acting that way screw that. I'd be looking for some real friends who play for fun and who are not douche bag elitist.
I've recently been playing, "Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift." There is so much ridiculous meta-gaming it's ridiculous. This game doesn't even support wifi battles. Yet people are so judgmental on unit growth/job choice. It's ridiculous.
They are noobs for fearing all the weapons...
If you use a pyro in tf2 and are winning, you are a noob.
Shotties on MW2 are suprisingly hard to use. I don't see what they're talking about. The range on a shotgun is like 4 feet. You've gotta be either very covert or rather deadly with your pistol.
I know how you feel OP, I used to have a friend who was exactly like that.
One of my friends turned into a douche bag like that.
We were playing MW2 and he started calling me a noob for running around with cold-blooded, ninja and a tactical knife, when it took a hell of a lot more skill to pull off kills that way than it took for him to "defend" 1 point that we owned when he could of been capturing one of the other 2 points that the enemy owned. >_>
He joined a clan that was apparently 'pro' and then started like that. The clan was actually just a group of whining morons who couldn't face the fact that they got killed, so called people noobs everytime it happened. :hmm:

My "Friend" (Who I HATE now) used to think of himself as a pro and all god like.
Whenever he got killed you only thing you heard was "oh my god, noob" or "Bull sh*t" and "What the f*ck?!" All your typical nerd rage sayings. He was pretty much a raging ******.
What made me LOL about him was that you'd kill him with the sniper and he'd say "sniper is for noobs!" then you'd drop the sniper just to shut him up and then after a minute later you'd see him in a corner USING THE SNIPER!
I still remember the day when he told an american over on Xbox Live to go eat an apple pie...

i once joined a friend of mine in his halo 3 match for fun, he's pretty much a one man army...
it was 5v5 team Deathmatch , 3 other friends joined the fray and against us where nothing less but americans, now, you gotta know this, i suck at halo 3, but when someone like me stops a high ranked guy's killing spree with a sticky nade right in the face, thats just ****ing funny
once that happened, the "OMFG JOO NOOB, JOO SUCK, NADE *****" and all that flew in my direction, the result was our team leading by roughly 40 points and winning
