Music You Want To Share

So, we have that "what are you listening to" thread that people used to just use to boost their post count. Hardly anyone actually reads it (as far as I could tell anyway).

So, lets make this thread one where you suggest music to your fellow OnRPGers. Try to actually listen to some of the songs, and post comments about them.

Feel free to specify genre before you post, so you don't get "LOL RAP IS DUMB NEEDS MOAR GUITAR" posts.



Heres some of mine:

I suggest this one to anyone who likes the White Stripes, and maybe something a little bit different. This band...I didn't really care for at first. But the more I listen to them, the more I seem to enjoy the songs.



This next song really isn't something new (the band OR the song) but certainly worth listening to if you have never heard it. This is one of the best covers I have ever heard. (cover, being that a band remakes a song, but uses their own style on the song. It doesn't just emulate the song 1:1, but changes it a little to make it new)

I actually listen to almost every song Avarance, shadowsworn and skald post...

Anyway I'm familiar with those bands. I heard few songs from "The Dead Weather" but never bought/dl any album, could you suggest one?

The Dead Weather only has one album AFAIK. I mean...its pretty OK. Its like an album I really like to listen to while I clean, or ride in the car, or something like that. I wouldn't pick it to listen to in my headphones, but it makes really nice background music.

Thats Sons and Daughters was decent. Female singers really never do it for me (a few exceptions, Dead Weather and Distillers being two of them). But she sure was nice to look at ;)

Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains, Folk Punk, Acoustic, Anarchist Punk, etc.



Great Lake Swimmers, Folk Rock, Folk, Acoustic, I don't really know, but they are amazing.



Andrew Jackson Jihad, Folk Punk.



Oh, one more I can't resist posting. Alcest, Shoegaze, Folk (Maybe, I dunno, not normal Shoegaze)

Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso UFO are a band from Japan that are awesome



If you're not already listening to OM despite the massive amount of posting about them I've done then uh, you probably should be





Colour Haze are a german stoner rock band. From their lyrics I get the impression that they're total hippies (hippies who make great music)



speaking of, if you don't know this band, you really should, they're pretty old, and legendary in psychedelic/space rock.



Camel are 70s prog rock with what sounds to me anyway like a psychedelic tinge. Mellotron (or however you spell it) ftw



Clutch are pretty fun hard/stoner rock from the Southern USA



lastly,
Thumlock are an Australian stoner metal band, who are criminally overlooked.

Clutch and Thumlock were awesome :D

I listen mainly to Japanese music, some people don't understand that but hey, I don't understand why some people like rap or hip hop.

Dave Matthews Band. Its just amazing. nothing to say really. its just chill, and laid back and catchy.But im pretty sure none of yall will like them since yall got sticks stuck up yalls butt.

That Circle Takes The Square song was pretty cool. I don't really dig that kind of singing, though.

I know, I said that because I'm almost certain Bleed has the fastest bass that Tomas has recorded for Meshuggah.

Holy shit, I'm loving that Johnny Hobo group! I wish I'd known about these guys 10 years ago when I was really into lots of punk stuff. I'd have gone NUTS for this hahaha. Man, reminds me a ton of my buddies and me hahaha. Good shit!

Kinda different and odd, but a lot of those songs reminded me of this one, I used to really like it. The lead singers voice kinda gets on my nerves, but the lyrics are pretty funny, and the music unique enough that it doesn't bother me xP

Shadowsworn, thats some crazy stuff you posted man. I like that kind of thing, but I can't really take it in large doses. One or two is great, but it starts to freak me out after a while :rofl:

V-Op - I have a friend who is SUPER into DMB. He loves them...hes been to like a bazillion concerts, and pretty much doesn't talk about any other kind of music. I DO know, that this is another of his favorite bands.



I'm not that big on DMB, never have been...but I love Wilco. So, maybe. :)

yeah Electric Wizard are awesome, I once listened to Funeralopolis on repeat for like two hours straight :]

Atom & His Package were, different lol. They sounded a bit like Toy Dolls meets Mario music. They were pretty cool, though.

Hobos song wouldnt be bad if the first 3 mins were cut off...hate intros.

that Wilco band didnt really do it compared to DMB and OAR. they were alright still tho.But if you like that Wilco you may like OAR.
