Arucard, I thought I'd help with your understanding the desire for homosexuals to get married.
See one of their main reasons is for the rights marriage gives a couple. Right now, if a man and woman are married, and the husband dies, all property legally belongs to the wife. She receives life insurance, social security benifits, investments, everything. However, if a homosexual couple live together for 50 years sharing everything EXCEPT a marriage license, if one dies, the other gets absolutely nothing. Whether anyone likes it or not, those two loved each other just as much as the hetero couple, but basically society/government tells them their relationship didn't mean as much as the hetero couple's did.
Hope that explains where they are coming form on that subject.
Even as a republican, i can understand their desire to be legally joined.

I never meant I didn't understand why they wouldn't want to be married I just meant why is it so important, I mean look at the couple in massachussetts that were the first to be legally wed, they split. Yes, splitting is normal and theres a high rate of divorce but thats a little rediculous when you are pretty much a foundation of a legal change. It's like a person wanting an abortion, being allowed to legally get the abortion and then never going through with it. That's pretty outrageous just like you assume "She receives life insurance, social security benifits, investments, everything." is a good reason for a homosexual "couple" to get hitched. Your assumption is just about as strong as my assumption and that is just for them to get another foot in the door, it is another way for them to force themselves into the world/be recognized and have everyone be tolerant of them. Honestly I don't really disagree with them being allowed to marry, BUT, i'd definately say there should be conditions such as I think only civil authorities should wed them, not religious(christian), it's oxymoronic. I just personally don't see their lifestyle as being natural, then you can say "well it's love", but you'd be JOOOOKING if you said that's ALL there is to it. And you can bash me all you want because you assume I'm just following my religion but believe it or not I come to these conclusions myself. I don't need people to agree with me that homosexuals should even be disliked because of the choices they make, not even necessarily who they are, maybe who they are being, thats not the point of this thread whatsoever. What I'd like to be agreed with is that their lifestyle IS a choice.

I love it when people use the "They don't need marriage." argument, it amuses me. Nobody "needs" marriage, technically and foremost.
Secondly, if gays want to marry, what the hell kind of difference does it make to ANYONE else other than the two getting married? It doesn't have any impact on your life whatsoever. If they want to marry, let them marry. The only thing more pointless than the idea of marriage is the idea of marriage being for straight people only. It's a legal process, that's all it is. If love can clearly happen homosexually, what difference does it make who wants to marry who?
If you don't like the ideas of gays marrying, don't pay attention. There's no justifiable reason to make it illegal.
Furthermore, why would you NOT want a greater single straight female to single straight male ratio? If a man would rather marry another man, than a hot girl, let him! More for the straight guys.

i don't really care about it, let them do what they want, i don't have any problems with it:) as long as they don't kiss in public but same goes for hetero's, just don't like to watch others kissing, especially if they do it with sound;)

I do not understand how most of the world is okay with Gay Marriage but Americans cannot be. They left EU so they could have freedom of religion, but when it comes to something more personal those people in the same area close the bloody doors.

PS: Marriage is suppose to be the uniting of two souls to be together for ever. It never stated that it was suppose to be a male and female, hell for a while they where allowed some time ago. Marriage is something that is for every one, to take away ones ability to get married is like taking away the freedom to love who they want to. Now if you do consider yourself an American and protect the rights of others, think about that. Don't just blow it off like you do all the other ****ing things people say.
