The reason we're warning him so much about how it's possible for him to get addicted to it is because he asked about it.
Some people can't just limit themselves. Maybe at first they can, but they'll start to slip. If the OP has a lot of free time, chances are he'll probably neglect some of his "real life" responsibilities to play WoW, or any other MMO. Maybe he already does it?
Also, like I said. WoW is addictive. And it's very accessible. The reason WoW gets all the 'flak' is because it's VERY well known, and is played by many. And a lot of the people that play WoW usually get a little to into the game. Some realize it, and start get out of the game, or quit, before it gets serious. Some may not like it all and wont get past level 30. Some may like it, play it a long time, and yet it wont affect their real life in any negative way. But some will get to into the game. And because WoW has a lot of people that play it, that 'some' is a huge number. It's a sad truth. WoW was developed to be very 'addicting', as in people will want to play it a lot. That's the mindset the devs had when they were making/as they have evolved the game. They were thinking, "How can we get people to play our game a lot, so we can get more subs, and sustain those subs?" It's just how it is.
