I loved 11 but I dont like how it runs on this machine. May or may not be upgrading.
But if it does come out on the 360 sometime in the future and the population is still strong I plan on playing.

You mean 14. 11 is already on xbox.
That is what I meant lol. I played 11 on the xbox since at the time my computer couldnt handle it.
will buy and play until GW2 comes out.
No. The developers don't care about their Western consumers or their community at all. The game is poorly designed and, with games such as Guild Wars 2, is in no way worth the monthly fee.
If Guild Wars 2 can give me a persisant world for no monthly fee why can't FFXIV? FFXIV doesn't seem to be providing me with any reason to pay the monthly fee at all as it's just a poorly meshed together MMORPG.
So no, and I don't think anyone else should either. It's a cash in game...nothing more.
Nah
It's pretty, but thats all there is too it. A pretty sandbox with pretty sandcastles and a storyline. It's the biggest chatbox ever created, everything else is just tacked on for hell of it.
You guys sure fail at bashing :-/
Its true this game is a either HATE or LOVE game.
I'm glad i LOVE it.
BTW: I will laugh my *** out when you all discover GW2 is just another generic mmorpg. :)
Probably not. I was really excited, but I'm really disappointed in what I've seen so far in the OB.
However, I am going to make a new character in a different city. It doesn't help that I got lost in the giant port town trying to find the npcs to progress the story. Perhaps I'm just ******ed. I'm not sure.
Haven't really had alot of time to play FF14, but i like it, and will buy it.
Though, it seems i like FF11 alot more, the attack speed i just too fast in FF14 which will need some getting used to.
i will not be buying it right now, maybe later but only if they improve atleast 3/4 issue's i have with this game right now.
1. interface/menu MUST be made more userfriendly.. its really horrible right now, opening and closing stuff goes too slow but the worst of all is your attack skills are not saving when changing weapons, i gotto set 8 skills everytime i switch to craft and back to Marauder, really time consuming...
2. monsters must be balanced better for solo play, the difficulty gap is arround lvl10 and its just too hard to find any decent monsters to train on. the monkeys in gridania have a green dot infront of their name yet they totally **** me -.- lucky i found some dodo's in the desert i can beat but thats about it, nothing else left to train on. everything else just hits way to hard, were talking about 200-1000 each hit here which is even inposible to survive with a big party.
3. lower the cooldown on Guild leve's or better.. remove it totally and make them repeatable endlessly. this move would really really improve the game and make it much more fun. its a good way to make gil and equips too so why not? i know SE wants us to spend as much time as posible in their game so they get money but throw too many limitations in it and it will just ruin the gameplay. btw its not all that rewarding either u know, if i stay in 1 spot and grind i get more xp then i would walking to the questspot and kill 6/8 mobs and return.
4. Crafting (biggest issue right now). if you want to make a player driven economy with no npcs selling equips u gotto keep crafting simple imo. right now you need waaaaaay to much items to craft something like a lvl1 axe and theres no way in a milion years you can think up the recipe for that without looking it up on the internet. (which u cant while ingame cause it wont let u minimize it)
lets take a look at the lvl1 Bronze war axe and what u need for it to make it.
1 bronze war axe head = 2 bronze ingots = 2x5 bronze nugget = 3copper+1 tin ore
1 Elm Axe haft = 1 elm lumber + linseed oil
1 Bronze Axe Butt = 1 bronze ingot + 2 bronze nugget
1 Buffalo Leather Strap = 1 buffalo leather = 1 buffalo hide + 1 oak chips
1 Animal Glue = 1 bone chip + 1 sheep leather spetch + 1 muddy water
lets see thats about 9 different crafts over 3-5 different jobs to get the main parts, then 1 more to finaly get the axe, BUT chances are very high u screw up and fail most of these crafts which means u can start all over at the beginning if u fail the last 1.
seriously simplify this shit... its unreal.
^This.

lol.. didnt have the choice "No, its a bad game/boring" dont know why you wouldnt have that even if you like the game since not everyone else will..
Most likely will not be purchasing this game. The fatigue for me is a huge deal breaker. Sure, it's cool that I can switch from one class/job to another on the fly, but I don't want to be FORCED into it. I was gunna play lancer/blacksmith, and really focus on them, but with the 8/15 hours a week, it's just not worth it imo. Especially not when I'm paying to play on their servers.
I loved the whole "we're doing this for the people who don't have a lot of time on their hands" comment. The people who grind away at this game like they would any other are still going to be farther ahead of the people that don't, not to mention, be better rounded overall. Way to spit in the face of the people you're doing this for.
no, waiting for guild wars 2
never found any MMO worth paying a monthly fee for..
(even if GW2 was a monthly fee I wouldn't buy it)
u know its strange but i havent ran into that surplus or fatigue system yet and im already 15. pretty sure i played over 20 hours too. i heard there were some lvl20+ already too so maybe they removed it or made it less heavy? lets hope they keep it that way though lol
I don't know yet... Some of my friends are loving it but they're completely biased because they are ex Final Fantasy XI players.
I won't be purchasing this game. The systems they put in place are just too archaic to be enjoyable for me. The current interface is annoying to navigate and I would like to customize it but given the way Square-Enix communicates with their communities I doubt that will happen.
The chat system is really annoying for me personally. With the way SE implemented ignore and friend's lists I foresee the chat being flooded with gold spammers. Not to mention the fact that literally every message whether it be from a player or npc is put into that single chat box. I'd probably miss 75% of my friend's messages if he didn't call me and yell at me.
I'll probably buy it. After trying out the Open Beta I was leaning towards not buying it (although to be fair I barely played because I had serious lag issues that I only figured out how to fix today), but some friends from FF11 are making a Linkshell on it so I feel it's at least giving a shot with friends (especially if Square cleans up some of the more glaring technical issues for the PC version). Plus, Pugilist seems like it's essentially monk + thief (my two favorite melee classes) with a bit of ninja-esque evasion tanking thrown in so it essentially sounds like a 'dream class'
1. Macro's...learn how to use them
2.11 and 14 are built to promote party play and not solo play, find some friends and be social
3. so you want to spam leve's to max lvl as quickly as possible...then what? theres nothing you can do with max lvl at ob / release till they make endgame stuff, its not gunna be there at day 1
4. although it is a bit confusing its ment to be a challenge, too many people are used to not being challenged at all in recent games and having stuff practically handed to them on a silver platter...get used to it ff games are about the story and challenges not being handed stuff so you can brag your epeen about having awesome stuff
Probably wont be buying it because of shitty PC
I said "no, specs are too high"
But also cuz monthly fees are too expensive anyways.
ye like 12 dollars a month..You gotta be rich for that stuff
I'm getting it simply because its awesome, been waiting for an actual MMORPG for a while. And I've enjoyed the beta, minus a few issues I have, but I'm sure they'll be fixed down the road/at release.
I'll have to change my sig as I voted no.:(
reason is the gameplay is really bad -fighting is utter crap.
As a game for social play i.e. crafting, selling, its a yes, but no for the mthly money fees. It needs to drop a lot in price before I'd reconsider.
I believe it is a great looking game with a good storyline.
I'm so amazed that the developers were so blind about how it plays.
I think a lot of the new Final Fantasy series released lately have had no real thought in them to how a game player wants to play games. They have basically got themselves such a money spinner of game they're lost themselves in the graphics, they haven't stepped back to see whats going on. The last game that hit the consoles was a joke, I think if they want to keep going on and on, they need to think harder at game playability and not so much at getting the graphics better than the last one.
In conclusion, I'd rather play other games over this one. If it was free or the fee was lowered, I may consider it. If this did happen, it would make me want start playing, I'd only do so though, for the grandeur of the game, the crafting, business sides and social play, over the going out killing mbs, it just don't play well enough on that side, demanding more in frustration to me, so, sorry, I just don't want to suffer that!
Final Fantasy (Even the singleplayers) have always been somewhat challenging. Square made FFXI and XIV perfect for this..They don't just hand over quests like in ALL the other generic MMO's. You have to actually find the NPC that HAS a quest and actually READ what the NPC is saying.
If you don't read it you could miss some very important details. At least this was how it was in FFXI, which is what I like. I get bored of todays MMO's due to the fact that they are just so damn easy, which also makes them boring. I don't want to kill 500 rats just to level up and get 1-2 more skills. I also don't want each quest to be about this dark dragon that, for some reason, killing 500 rats will help the situation.
The best thing i liked about XI was that you actually felt like you were accomplishing something and you really felt involved in the world. I'm glad this is what everyone is complaining about because it means it carried over from XI.
Sorry that it didn't have a tutorial that showed you every fun part of the game and how to do everything. When you enter the world of FF you need to figure everything out on your own, and they shouldn't change it at all.
I've already bought it and can't wait for the release. :)
exactly what i'm saying, i loved that about ffxi and thats the same reason i find wow boring, i still play it but usually only like 1-2 hours a day...its just so god damn boring i wanna take my eyes out with a s**** but i promised a friend i'd play with them so i'm holding on lol
sorry... but i think ur kind of use to easy everyday mmos... where to craft a low lvl sword you need like... 2 pieces of ore and you magically end up with a sword..
i think the crafting is great, it feels more real life. In real life a person would need ALL that stuff maybe more to make a bronze sword lol. The crafting is really immersive and helps draw you into the world more.
and the fact that monsters arnt always what they seem is cool too. It provides a great challenge to the game which i always welcome because when a game is simply grind on these mobs you know you can kill all the time it gets boring fast...
so i will be purchasing this game :P yey im excited for release!!
Much better my young padawan learner. :O
I agree somewhat but since I haven't played it I can't really talk to much. However, I'm playing it because it's like FFXI. If they changed the system then it would just be another MMO to kill rats, slimes or whatever else they decide to have you grind on.
since when does ff games become a crafting game? seriously?
crafting system sucks, makes no sense giving the player a craft without explaining how to make stuff
Never gonna buy it , guild wars 2 looks a lot more fun than this .
im just saying its more complicated.... which to me makes it feel more real instead of "smelt 3 ores to produce this axe"
guild wars to is clearly going to be a good buy
the game design itself is superior and new compared to all other mmos
plus no monthly subscription
it only takes 1 video of guildwars2 to see it is going to be good, even if you didn't like guild wars 1
